Mark has found a backdoor path to our hearts.

Allow me to introduce you to Lynne Cox

No, my ego's actually a bit healthier than it should be. But if I were feeling inferior, I imagine I'd be spending my days posting misogynist crap on a "feminist" website to make myself feel less like an impotent little man-child.

I honestly think we all just call it "deodorant" whether or not its "antiperspirant" or "deodorant" lol

It lost me at "patchouli"

My husband turned me on to unscented men's deodorant - Mitchum gel. Works like a charm, scent-free so it doesn't clash with my perfume. (A quick Google search reveals there may be a difference of as much as $1.50 between the men and women's versions.)

The person who comes back sooner will also be sleep-deprived, because babies do not care what meetings you have in the morning. They also won't still be doing things like breast-feeding, nor will they have all the weird biological things that continue to plague one's body for months after childbirth.

The study wasn't referring to going back to their jobs. The study was referring to long term wage growth. Freezing your career track for longer than another mother who comes back more quickly from maternity leave seems like it could result in natural differences that can't immediately be closed with a little

First, punctuation. Second, logic. Third, common decency. These are your goals, from easiest to hardest. Make them a priority. Take them seriously. Good luck, champ.

A doctor in the group I used to work for got pregnant shortly after she was hired. The actual doctors were all supportive, but the staff made all sorts of comments about how she shouldn't have gotten preggers so shortly after starting work. It was ridiculous, and these were women saying this shit. Internalized sexism

I don't know about other Countries, but in Canada maternity leave comes out of the Employment Insurance Fund (Federal government) so the employer is not paying women on maternity leave.

Being fair is a hassle. Following laws is a hassle. It would be much easier to be a complete jerk and act like a caveman. Society however has deemed it necessary to put some limits on the person's natural jerkiness.

You don't have to pay them. You just have to give them the time off, and the same or an equivalent position when they return. And, in most countries that do have guaranteed paid maternity leave, the leave is paid by the government, not the company.

The press needs to stop calling this a beating or an attack. It's attempted murder and sexual assault. The woman was forced to watch her friend get beaten, then she got beaten, stabbed, sexually assaulted, threatened with further rape, tortured, and the only reason she's alive is because he decided to go look for a

"I don't need femisin because i like when my men are men, i was FURIOUS when my husband turned out to be a possum"

Aw, you left out the best part of the story.

"In 2006, El Paso Independent School District met with the parents about an anonymous complaint that the children were not being educated. District attendance officer Mark Mendoza later confirmed that one of the daughters, Tori, had run away from home to "attend school," and

Totally on that last one. I have a friend who keeps posting these "hilarious" stories on facebook about her kid asking for milkies (their term for breastfeeding, I guess) and it creeps the shit out of me. Those stories aren't cute, they're the beginning of a long story that kid is going to be telling a shrink

That lox stock photo at the top of the page reminded me of a strange coworker I had. This is not a restaurant story, but worth telling:

oh fuck, get in my fucking mouth right now.
