I almost bought one of these for my bride.  She wanted to avoid another car payment, so we didn’t get one.  It’s a heck of a lot of car in a small package.  But, my goodness, that’s some serious depreciation!

Let’s do some math. 15 minutes is about a mile. The nearest grocery store to me is about 1/2 a mile. It is only across 1 major street, and the store is on the corner, and I’m not far from that on the other side. There is no way I’m carting a weeks worth of groceries that far when I have a car that runs on sunlight Read more

I’ll remember to stay off your lawn. My Tesla is awesome to drive. Quick, instant responses, very low CG, 50/50 weight distribution. Other cars slow, noisy, tippy, and unresponsive and franky, inferior. Read more

If I’m in my car, and a mob of rioters start banging on my car, I’m getting out of there. I’m not going to wait for them to break my windows and drag me or my bride out of my car, or shoot me. At that point they are guilty of assault, and I’m in a reasonable fear of grievous bodily harm or death.

A Model 3 is the cheapest decent new car you can buy, TCOO. I’m paying 600 a month to buy it. I can sell it for practically what I paid for it after 2 years of ownership. I have solar panels, so I don’t pay for gas ($300 per month). There is no maintenance to speak of (other than tyres and windshield wiper blades). No Read more

How come there is a button I have to press. I would think it would be easy to add a microswitch that lowers/raises the knob.

Wow, button down.  That’s way to dress-up for me.  A polo shirt is about as far as I go.

I just got a pair of these. I hate wearing shoes, and usually wear ECCO sandals. I was working in the garage and a heavy can fell just right on one of my toes. I thought it was broken, but it just turned black and a generous rainbow of colours. So, I ordered these. They are mesh, steel-toed, and puncture resistant

22K? was that a base model, it still seems like a heck of a deal. If you don’t intend to keep it ‘forever’ it seems like a good choice. 6/72, ain’t bad, but it pales in comparison to my 8/120K warranty. It’s also ~2 seconds quicker to 60 (I got one of the slow early LR RWD ones)
