You could call the movie “Washed Up.”

No, it’s a super fucked up movie because she’s 16 years old. She’s 16, makes terrible choices, and marries the first man she sees. A man that agrees to marry this - again, 16 years old - girl, who never speaks a word to him. And the problem there is not that she’s mute, because mute people can absolutely have

I live in middle America, in a town with a population of at max 1700 people. In December, it was Trump signs as far as eyes could see. Now, signs are FAR fewer, and people are making anti-Trump comments in public on a regular basis. This is the kind of place where I didn’t put out a Hillary sign because I don’t need

Maybe he should just stay in Florida permanently and can be president for life of Florida so the rest of us can get some peace. Haha, just kidding, I live in Texas.

Until McCain actually does something, anything aside from flapping his gums but supporting that flaming bag of orange peels at the same, he can take a seat.

I just checked on my brother, who lives in Stockholm. He says he was lucky to have escaped.

I lived in Europe (Italy) for 4 years when a work opportunity came up. It was fabulous. Go have an adventure!

DO IT.

If you’re going for more than a day or two, get the Museum Pass. It more than pays for itself, and it lets you skip ticket lines.

Check out the Rodin museum, it is the most underrated museum in Paris. Use the metro or the buses, vianavigo is a great app for public transport. The weather tends to be a bit weird in April so check météo France in advance to know what to pack. Brioche Dorée make great sandwiches to snack on while wandering around,

Oof, I hear you. Where we live, the housing market is bizarre, and our mortgage costs half of what it would to rent a house the same size. We literally couldn’t afford to keep renting. At least you’re surrounded by art and culture, and out of Trump Country, though! :)

I went for the first time a few years ago. I wish we had set aside at least two full days for the Louvre. There is just too much to see.

I wish! It’s all electronic now, except for the letter they send you telling you it’s paid off. I’m all for suggestions of alternate things I can ritually burn in celebration, though. :)

After 10 years, I finished paying off my student loans today! *High fives all around*

Wow, I could not make it through that essay. Natasha Vargas-Cooper is still and probably will always be a complete asshole. Not surprised at Bill Maher being a bigoted asshole either.

She has always kind of been a dick.

What a strange (yet compelling) episode of Black Mirror this is turning out to be.

As just one example, ‘Hidden Figures’ isn’t anybody’s idea of a “prestige drama”. It’s a very entertaining movie that also happens to have humor, drama, heroism, romance, science, and Janelle Monae. There may be other reasons you don’t care to see it, but fearing that you’ll be stuck in a “prestige drama” is not one

She seems pretty smart to me, since one of the things she does on the side is teach girls about coding and STEM careers. And I give her huge credit for that, especially given the power of that message coming from a literal supermodel. Not defending her choice in this case, but we all have our blind spots and her

I think it suggests that everybody is different and has different experiences with marriage and with everything else.
