I know this is a candidate for the next New England Journal of Duh but I think men need to be better about trusting women when they come out about this stuff. There is literally no benefit to a woman making these kinds of accusations about a powerful man.

That’s...pretty much Kinja FB.

my fiance helped me become better. the frustrating part was how simple some of these things are to change while others seem nearly impossible. I look at it as a constant journey where I’m just trying to be decent.

My 12 year old nerdy kid had a sleepover with three other 12 year old boys. I heard a lot of what they said (because god DAMN are they loud) and some of it was really problematic. Yeah, it was my kid and yeah, there were consequences.

With these issues, it’s really not hard to not be a trash person.

It’s asking the women in your life, “What do you need?” instead of “What should I do?”

This is absolutely essential for us to get over that initial, reactionary defensiveness. Acknowledging our roles in this isn’t a threat to our identities. No one is demanding that we fall on our swords. Just that we do the right thing and give up something we never earned in the first place.

The ways to overcome your trashness if  you’re a man who’s trash (and you probably are, we all probably are, I ain’t special and you’re not either) arethe same ways we ask white people to admit white privilege is a thing;

Appreciated this piece. It’s sure to be taken the wrong way, but it’s damned solid.

This article was everything I was going through when the #YesAllWomen thing happened a little while back. I was going through everything I did, and even then, it wasn’t out of any sense of introspection. I was horrified after reading their accounts of abuse and wanted something, anything to use to try and separate

I want to marry this piece. OMG, thank you so, so much. This work is HARD work, but so incredibly necessary and timely.

Well, tough shit England, that’s what you get for Brexit.

I love cheesy musical episodes and that is one of the most dreadful things I’ve ever seen. But yet I too am still watching.

I do too! It’s amazing.

I’m not hating this purge going on in Hollywood. Bring it on, politics!!!!

If I was the type of person who had like, a vision board, it would be covered in Christina quotes. And Bailey. They’re the best friends/sisters/moms that every woman deserves.

I still watch and love Grey’s Anatomy and I ain’t even sorry. I’ve seen every single episode, more than once! Dr. Webber is an treasure. And so is Miranda Bailey. And I love the friendship between Alex and Meredith and am so glad they’ve shown it and kept it as a platonic, yet totally full of love, relationship! And

I like Maggie.

aah, I recently finished binge-watching it (yes, I’ve seen every single episode in 4 months.) While it never reaches the heights of the first seasons, there are some great episodes.
