I have to say Golden Sun 1 + 2. I sunk so many hours into those games, and few different playthroughs. The gameplay, the story, the characters, all excellent. I also loved how you could transfer character data from the first game to the second.

I agree, this was a well crafted piece. I didn’t expect it to be so long, but was intrigued the entire way through.

I totally agree. It’s fascinating. I love reading about it, but I don’t have *that* much time (or desire) to play it.

Amen to that.

I really like the artwork for WonderBoy, it reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. Reallllyyy pulling on those nostalgia heartstrings.

I’m pretty sure it’s the same artist.

N64: Super Mario, Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart

Any of the older Pokemon games for GB/GBC. Since I grew up playing those games, I know my way around them quite well, and it’s mindlessly relaxing to make my way through the game again.

Hi Mike! Just an FYI, I think there’s a typo in the second paragraph:

I had goosebumps watching that. Very well done.

Reminds me of Dan from Street Fighter. An undervalued, butt-of-all jokes character, and yet still viable if played correctly. Also quite satisfying to watch someone utterly destroy with Dan while the oppenent is left completely frustrated/baffled/embarrased.

Woah, was not expecting to find this kind of article on Kotaku, but damn was it interesting. I just wanted to say I thought this article was really well written. It was very informative and kept a neutral-bias tone, which helped me stay open minded about such a morally and ethically shaky subject. Great job Patricia!

I'm not a software developer, but I just wanted to say that a majority of this list, in general, is sound career advice for any field. Good stuff!

I'M GOING TO ROLL THE STATS FOR A FUCKING

When the game first came out, people were complaining about Little Mac...now it's Diddy Kong. I fail to see how this "controversy" around Diddy Kong is any different. Like other's have said, just give it time and eventually people will figure out how to handle/beat it. This is one of the things that make fighting

super smash brothers melee. I will forever love playing that game. So many hours, so many memories. It's nice to be able to load it up and play a couple matches. I also love replaying Pokemon R/B, G/S or R/S/E, mainly because I can emulate them and move through them quickly.

No love for the Rogue Squadron games?

From what else I've read, it looks like you can customize other characters as well

Although I don't play as often as I used to, I mainly play video games to relax, and I enjoy exploring the different worlds and mechanics games have to offer. I look for games that are simply to play, but have lots of depth and/or strategy (which can be challenging to find). It's an added bonus if the game has a great
