I’m sure EVgo is going to install the new ABB chargers of at least 150 kWh. Jalopnik is not the best source for accurate EV news.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the Model X only charge around 140 kWh?

VW took the same strategy with the e-Golf, and it’s smart.

Well, this may surprise you, but I haven’t done a census of home buyers and asked them that question. Nor do I think you have. And as I said in my first comment, Jalopnik does not represent the general public, so your thoughts on what’s in someone’s driveway means jack shit.

I can’t believe there is an actual reasoned response here.

How does “don’t have a POS in the driveway” equate to “must have a Ferrari in the driveway?”

The Plaintiff has the burden of convincing the finder of fact (judge or jury).

Well now you’re just poking the bear.

Yeah VWoA has decided to seal the fate of good cars and won’t sell the regular Golf here anymore. But there has also been reporting that IG Metal, the largest union in Germany, and the one that represents auto workers, has been bitching at VW to bring Golf production back to Wolfsburg from Puebla. So that probably has

You would be, if VW didn’t have their head up their ass and was going to bring this to the US. But we’ve had many reports they won’t be bringing this here, which is just so stupid. I can almost guarantee you that every e-Golf owner would get this ID as soon as it was available, or at the end of their lease.

I don’t think he reads goodly.

Because this will actually be a nice car.

The prices are steep compared to what? The Model 3? The Model 3 Long Range is $38,950. Oh wait, sorry, that’s “after savings.” It’s $49,500 before options, and it gets 310 miles. If these numbers hold up the Golf, sorry, ID is WAYY better value for money.

Exactly! You're allowed to set the terms of how your property is handled, and they're within their right to refuse your demands, and thus, not work on your vehicle.

I know it’s technically not vandalism as they’re not damaging my property, but I have a right to require it remain connected as it’s my property, just as I have the right to not allow them to even test drive the vehicle. The dealership is also within its rights to not work on my vehicle.

As I live in California I have to provide notice occupants are being filmed. And on that same notice I state any attempt to disable the camera will be considered vandalism and action will be taken. When I brought my car in for the airbag replacement they called me and were super nervous and said they would have to

“Be KNOWINGLY present.”

The GTI can be run on regular without any damage being done, you just get less power.

Why doesn’t VW offer a race version of the GTI for the public you ask.

Wow, I wish everyone did that. It drives me nuts that EVgo and now VW (Electrify America) charge by the minute here in California even though they are legally allowed to charge by the kWh. But it’s cool that where Tesla has to charge by the time they do it fairly and don’t gouge you when the car is charging “slowly.
