Do they charge by kWh or by time?
Do they charge by kWh or by time?
That requires user input, whereas in the prospective apps the network automatically updates the status.
It’s brilliant IF the dealer salesman learns what the fuck they’re selling and tell potential customers this.
I’ve never looked it up specifically, but a spot has to have a Vehicle Code attached to it. So not all spots have this, mainly just public lots since police don’t do anything on private lots.
Plugshare is really nice to find tips about a station but to find whether or not it’s in use we have to go the charger’s network app, like EVgo, Chargepoint, Greenlots, etc.
It would be nice if companies installed sensors in the parking spots, but I doubt that will ever happen.
No, I think the general public likes to stop every hour or so. But as someone else commented as soon as you tell them they need to plug in their car they lose their shit. That’s the problem right there, and I think until charging literally gets so fast you can recharge in five minutes* there will always be a large…
There are FINALLY chargers being installed in gas stations. I am so, so, SO happy about this. Gas stations are always right off the freeway, plus they have refreshments, and every once in a while a usable bathroom.
Oh I know. I mean, yes, I would prefer to keep going, but I don’t complain I have to stop on longer trips. I took a 200 mile trip right after I got my car and going down I planned several stops along the way as I didn’t know what my real world range was. On the way home, having more data, I planned for one stop, and I…
SO MUCH DATA!
How much is to charge at a Supercharger?
I would bet a LOT of money that even if Tesla came out with 400 miles of range you still wouldn’t get it because it would take too long to recharge to get home.
Lol good point.
I think you misread my comments. I’m all for EVs as I own one and mine has a tiny battery in comparison to Teslas.
Well I still have some capacity. I’m so stupid as to arrive at my destination with zero miles remaining.
I think we will have to deal with a large section of the population for decades that come up with bullshit reasons they won't buy an EV.
My threshold is 3,000,000 footsteps.
What model do you have?
As others have already pointed out, on a long journey it can add up quite quickly.
I wish that Tesla vehicles didn’t come with a large supply of kool-aid so we could know what their real-world mileage is at highway speeds using the AC. I would go to their forums, but unless you’re drinking the kool-aid too, their shit is too much to handle.
