I’ve really had quite enough of living in Bizarro World. How do we wake up from this? Does it make me a bad person for me to wish that all Congressional Republicans and members of the current administration would simply stroke out and/or die?

I’m going to have a pastrami on white bread with mayonnaise and tomatoes and lettuce.
Yup - it certainly was in 2016.
Thank you for your post, you pretty much said everything I was thinking about this issue. I may have agreed with McCain about 5% of the time, optimistically speaking, and he was never my idea of an ideal statesman, but - and especially considering what passes for human in the Republican Party today - I had respect for…
Yes, yes, yes, and again yes. Even in the one place where Cillizza is almost on point he makes an ass of himself:
That’s the way I feel about pets, perpetual 2-year-olds that they are. I do have a kid (but no longer a wife) and I’ve discovered that after a few years, kids actually grow up to become autonomous beings and can come with you or stay home, or with relatives.
Really good post. I’m a parent, and am amazed by how much I love my kid and how happy I am that I reproduced. If I could have had more I would have done so. On the other hand many of my friends have no kids and it’s not an issue, that’s who they are. If you don’t want kids, just don’t have them.
My 2 cents: if you don’t want kids, it’s OK. Just don’t reproduce. If you do, you <might> discover that it was a good idea, and then again, there’s a good chance that it might be every bit as not-you as it seemed beforehand. Hard on you, hard on the kids.
So when no one wants to watch this show, I suppose it will be some sort of libtard Hollywood values thing, right?
He was a very good pitcher, but is a very bad human being.
Heh, this guy gives a new dimension to the term DINO, in his past life, anyway.
My money is on his voting to deprive millions of the hope of receiving the care he’s getting as he stares death in the face. GWB and Trump humiliated him during their campaigns and he still came around and supported them both. I don’t think he’ll change his spots now.
You do realize, right, that aside from any of his other endearing qualities, The Rock is a registered Republican...
I know, right? People are so unreasonable. Smoking smells terrible and kills you and the people around you, but jeez, aside from that it’s just fine.
I don’t think he was conflating the two investigations. I got that he was trying to get Comey to say why he thought that he could come to the conclusion he did regarding Hillz’s emails while at the same time reporting himself as being unable to be so decisive regarding Trump. He did sound tired and somewhat confused,…
I’d say good riddance to Foghorn Leghorn, but sheesh, Trump would probably find someone even worse.
Seriously? It’s that Republicans control the entire fucking government and they won’t let that happen. They don’t give a rat’s ass what happens as long as they can keep their jobs and take our money.
I’d like to take this opportunity to rage momentarily against Anthony Weiner for coming up through the Congressional ranks looking like he might be a great legislator, then screwing up again, and again, and again, and again, learning nothing, humiliating himself and his wife, and contributing to the sea of trash that…
“But for the record, no. His ability seems mediocre at best.”
I had heard all that about him before the election, but an ignorant orange shitgibbon made mincemeat out of him in the primaries, insulted his wife pretty much to his face, and made him his bitch, debate skills and lawyerly chops notwithstanding. There’s a lot less to him than meets the eye.
