Netflix execs, if you’re reading this: pick up Lower Decks, give us at least a few more seasons, and I’ll solemnly swear never to cancel my subscription.

Maybe it’ll be another Dyad? As I recall, there was speculation that Darth Plagueis could be involved in the series in some fashion. In that case, it wouldn’t be surprising if a Dyad is the basis of the technique for immortality/extended life, as it would neatly bookend with a Dyad’s efforts to end Palpatine.
Wiki indicates it began filming May 7. I stand corrected. Last I saw, I’d had the impression they were still very much working on the treatment.
June 2025 seems pretty aggressive, if filming has not yet even begun.
It’s not much of an exaggeration to say that Dawn should be held in the same regard as acclaimed genre sequels like The Dark Knight, T2: Judgment Day, Empire Strikes Back, and Dune: Part Two.
TBH, the “most exciting” thing for Alien fans is the Hawley show, not Romulus.
Seriously. Why set up secure administrative/research area outside of the Green Zone when you can just put it directly adjacent to many hundreds of uninfected civilians?
I think you mean “greatest Trek” and “best Trek of all time”
Kind of would have agreed with this, up until 5 and 6 (especially 6).
Who the fuck cares about canon and in-universe explanations for a shitty franchise that was built upon an enjoyable-but-not-great movie 20 years ago?
Yeah. I saw The Marvels opening weekend, more or less enjoyed it as I was watching but did not leave the theater gushing over it, and tbh right now I could barely describe some of the big plot points. Something something stealing from planets/suns to help the Kree something something?
Thank you for providing all this context. It was surprising to me that Bezos would be planning such a massive satellite constellation using single-use rockets, as I assume that Starlink’s financials have been aided in no small part by SpaceX’s lower costs.
what the fuck are you even talking about.
Those exist; they are called state schools. But to lots of people, those aren’t “good” enough. While yes, some state schools are still crazy expensive, that doesn’t negate the dozens if not hundreds of state schools around the country that will give you a great education, with very little (or often zero) student loan…
Here’s hoping that whatever Baylan seeks will do some hand-wavey-dark-majik thing and establish that there’s a multiverse, and that the sequel trilogy was very much not in the Prime universe.
What’s the Russian government paying its troll farmworkers these days?
~18% of the U.S. (~60m people) live in rural areas, many without any prospects of gaining high speed internet in the near future. That number is probably even higher when you factor in residents of low density roads in suburban areas where ISPs have decided it’s not cost effective to lay cable/fiberoptic.
The whole move to USB-C was spurred by European regulations. Have not checked but wouldn’t be surprised if EU regulators anticipated and addressed this as well.
I hope that’s the case. There’s so much material they can still pull from. It’s rare for a comedy to be this consistently excellent.
At least they (appear) to have gotten past the map subplot within the first two episodes. It’s such a bizarre plot device, especially in this context. Someone built an ancient temple to hide a map depicting the location of someone who, in-universe, disappeared only a few years prior? Seems like they could have…
