It was, for its time, one of the longest and most engrossing JRPGs ever made, and aside from this, has a great story.

Actually, as a fellow fan, I have great news - it can actually already be done right now!
That's true, and call me a picky player, but WCIII was what I view as the start of the downward spiral of the writing direction in the games, generally speaking.
If you have a chance, play WCI and WCII - just for the storyline - and you'll see how much they have been retconning.
I'm aware. Pardon the pernicious punctuation problems at 3 a.m.
Pretty much, yes.
1: Social trends have gone pretty far away from individual responsibility, it's true. Even the fact that the Horde chose to take the demon blood doesn't stop them from crying victim.
2: I know. I know. It's practically a rostrum for Progressive rhetoric.
3: That's precisely my point - Metzen has a…
I'd hardly think anyone who let Hellscream carry the Divine Bell through a supposedly-neutral city has any right to be there anymore; they are no longer neutral, and neither is Dalaran.
Let me break this down:
Ad-hominem, No True Scotsman, Ad-hominem, Ad-hominem.....
Illidan is part of the Alliance?
Hm. Maybe we shouldn't have raided Black Temple, then.....
Actually, I finally started to like Jaina after she finally sacked up and kicked the traitors out of Dalaran.
Understanding motivation is fine - excusing away all past evil because "buut butttt the demon blood made them do it! You're racist and closed-minded for being angry!" is not.
That's the issue I've got with Metzen's writing since post-WCII:ToD. He's got a clear favorite.
Well, fuck me. You're right.
Look deeper. That's what happened.
Trolls are former humans who started worshipping the Spirits.
Generations of this corrupted them.
Yes, I do know that. But it doesn't really change the overall issue.
Actually, that's cute, but I think in 5 years I've posted in there a total of twice.
I just know my lore - I was a fan of the original RTS games, [I-II] but I feel that starting with WCIII and especially WoW, Metzen's gone down a fanfiction-y road and it gets more obvious with every expansion that he plays favorites.
At least you recognize that we've been given the shaft pretty often. That's more than most people here.
And THANK YOU for being the first person to point out that they did everything they did willingly. Ner'zhul and Gul'dan didn't spoon-feed it to them. They took it because they wanted power.

Anti-Heroes are great.
I'm a guy that genuinely loves anti-heroes; the Byronic Hero is my favorite literary archetype, ever. But the whole the-horde-is-innocent angle really grates at me. It's lazy and it's not realistic.
Post the WC3-ridiculousness, yes.
