Shit. I was pissed(ish) because this is a really similar concept to a short story I had just started work on but had been planning for about a year.

Again though, I get it from people who might be heavily involved in LGBT rights or actually attending sex parties with their partner. They make a point of being openminded and “not judging” but they are totally judging and always give the smug “Trust me” or “Someday you will meet the right person, then you will see”

I think at a conceptual level, the show can never really escape that. If the focus on healthy (even non romantic) relationships with female characters then I suspect they feel like they will lose their core audience.

Ugh. I was mad about that but Im only because I loved the characters (Charlie too.) But I just realising that the show is actually more sexist than most.
