i suspect this is a very crucial aspect of sony’s argument. COD puts out a game every year (usually)—activision provides stability, saleswise, to both consoles, allowing them take their cut and more safely invest in their very expensive game development—essentially risk free.

not exactly. if you’re programmed to chase icons, then icons is all you’ll find. i suggest turning off some of the more intrusive GUI and just exploring Odyssey. its rendition of Ancient Greece really is a sight to behold.

fortunately i make enough money to afford both, but i’m not interested in impulse purchases. i will wait to see improvements in both the switch and the deck before i commit. 

whether or not it’s right or wrong, i think nintendo has stopped making “cheap games” like in the wii era because, even though the wii’s success was astronomical, the system ended up being so overloaded with crap that it made it look frankly kind of trashy.

i sold my switch years ago at this point, and am waiting for an updated, more powerful version. if that indeed comes to pass.

if only they had done a straight adaptation of the reboot game it would’ve been smooth sailing. their decision to inject the movie with daddy issues rather than casting her within an ensemble of younger actors just sank the whole vibe of the film.
