in the show’s defense, it had to thread two needles—it had to satisfy the expectations of video game fans *and*, like the video game that came before it, it had to deal with adapting novels that i would only charitably call bad. the witcher is a strange and difficult beast of a intellectual property—it’s rife with

i haven’t found any of his stuff particularly crazy. maybe in that urban outfitter humorous book section kind of crazy. but no, not real crazy

it probably has to do with pricing strategy. they can sell an extra volume, but each volume will be a lower price than if they’d gone with a larger box set. it will also give more choice.

that part of the film is fucking majestic

star trek the motion picture remains the only film from the original cast that actually feels like a movie to me, and not a visualized radio play. the motion picture part is apt—the film is a genuine work of cinematic art.

it feels really irresponsible.

something has changed in patricia’s tone, or attitude, since they were here last. i hope it’s not a trend. especially because they have editorial control. like, it’s okay to point out that a person is or was a jerk. it’s another thing entirely to circle that point for paragraphs, dissecting a few words until they’re

bethesda is a huge developer and publisher though, with multiple IPs. sony’s stable of developers are all relatively small, boutique firms with one or at most two IPs.

also, sony santa monica, naughty dog, insomniac, even from software are boutique operations, putting out one title every couple of years. bethesda is far more prolific.

i fully expect elder scrolls and the next fallout to be xbox exclusives as well. the only reason nothing’s been said on that front is because they’re slowly drip feeding us the horror of what they’ve done.

i’m not complaining, it’s just a sad and pathetic move. microsoft didn’t build bethesda up from the ground.

Immortals is deeply underrated.

after his costume designer and creative collaborator, Eiko Ishioka died, i wonder if he simply lost interest in that kind of filmmaking. i’m sure he’s still making a killing directing commercials, which is his bread and butter.

“on the PS5’s chief competition, the Xbox Series X and S. For the most part, you can just...play old games”

yeah he was the primary antagonist of “the guest”.
