Even tho I love FFT (it’s one of my favorite games), FFXII wasn’t for me (and I tried). The last passable one had to be FFX (shitty story, passable gameplay, good graphics).

I was a fan of the genre, but haven’t enjoyed one since FFXII. I look forward to its remaster next year though.

I think JRPGs are hard to justify playing over the age of, oh, 23 at the oldest? They don’t respect your time at all and they’re all composed of the same tropes. A hard sell if you’re not already a fan of the genre.

Ironically YLOD was caused by cheap solder not bad cooling (though additional/better cooling helped avoid the issue), thats why it can be fixed by putting it in the oven lol. Just happened to be a really bad place to cut corners.

Matchmaking for raids is a terrible idea. In game LFG maybe, never matchmaking though.

Am I the only one who thinks Skolas was the best fight in Destint so far? It require very precise coordination and with only three people it felt like a tighter experience. No dead weight and little room for mistakes. I used to run Skolas just for the sake of doing the fight, fun ass times.

I’m glad to hear that, personally. Oryx was so mechanical--lots of DPS puzzles that had rote solutions and just took a long time. I love the idea of something that’s shorter and based more around you’re teams communication/all-purpose combat abilities. Makes grinding faster, even if it’s not necessarily easier per se.

Not surprising with the average/bad reviews the game has been getting. Seems like MS shuffled this one out to die. They obviously didn’t have much faith in it and what little hype that started to build from E3 died and never came back. For good reason too apparently.
