Leaked photos of aliens that may or may not be Klingons. Again, lots of rumors and wild speculation, no hard facts.

And even if those are Klingons . . . it’s hardly the first time the Klingon makeups have gotten an upgrade. Remember how the Klingons looked before STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE? Back in my day,

And UPN was used to lower ratings than CBS . . . .

As for NBC . . . well, the media landscape has changed a bit since the 1960s so it’s hard to draw comparisons there.

One can reasonably debate what is the best platform for a STAR TREK tv series these days, since the syndication market that nurtured TNG is also

And “supposedly” means that’s just rumors and speculation, which probably need to be taken with a grain of salt. (Or salt vampires.)

Remember several months ago when the entire internet was 100% percent certain that DISCOVERY was going to be an anthology series set around the time of the sixth movie? Or a few years

Not to divert the thread, but, realistically, how long would a STAR TREK series last if it aired on CBS? It doesn’t really fit with the rest of their programming. And when was the last time a space opera succeeded on one of the Big Three networks?

It does STAR TREK no good to air on CBS if it’s just going to get

As I recall, Mudd’s daughter has popped up in the nuTrek comic books.

Fair enough.

The American version.

For what it’s worth, the 24th century is still moving forward in the books.

And speaking of new books coming out in April:

It’s been known to happen. :)

Glad to see RED AS BLOOD getting a snazzy new release, though. I think I still have my prized copy of the original DAW paperback edition.

The “fact” that the new show took place around the time of TUC was just a rumor that too many people treated as “news.” The new series is and has always been set before TOS.

Not in the least. Most of the eye-rolling has been at the implication that people can’t possibly share a meal with a member of the opposite sex without all manner of dire temptations arising. Never mind it they happen to be business associates, long-time friends, or whatever. Because why would a man possibly want to

Did I mention there’s also a novelization? :)

Eliza Dushku’s character, Faith, came and went throughout the series. Sometimes she was a regular; sometime she was a recurring guest-star.

“May be temporary.”

Is it just me or is Affleck kinda channeling Adam West there? Something about the cadence of that line reading reminds me of West. Deliberate, or is that just kinda how we all kinda imagine Batman’s voice, even today?

Hmm. A new Mary Poppins movie in production. Now a Doctor Dolittle reboot.

Clearly, they are setting up an epic crossover battle . .. :)

Yep, it’s definitely from SON OF KONG. You can tell by the white fur.

Saw this in college back in the early eighties. Don’t know if it was the unrated version or not.

Honestly, the line between “remake” and “new adaptation” can be a blurry one, depending on how much inspiration a new movie takes from previous film version. I mean, the Tim Burton version of PLANET OF THE APES arguably owed as much to the classic 1968 movie as the original novel by Pierre Boulle, so I think most
