Hey, if you figure out exactly which issue it was, let me know. I wouldn’t mind tracking down a copy myself.

I was a fairly prolific Marvel comics letterhack back in the day. I remember I had letters published in THE DEFENDERS, STAR WARS, and a few other series, but my memory is hazy as to details.

True story: the first letter I ever had published in a comic appeared in MARVEL PREVIEW, commenting on a Lilith story that had run a few issues earlier. I still remember my excitement, while riding in the back of my parents’ station wagon, to see my letter in print in a Marvel magazine!

I loved those black-and-white horror magazines too, although they could be hard to find in my neck of the woods.

Dare I admit that I didn’t read Kirby’s run?

Granted, now that I’m older I kinda see where the new writers were coming from. They were no doubt eager to get on with their own ideas and not spend their first six issues tieing up the old regime’s loose ends. Or who knows? Maybe sales were dipping and they were under orders from Management to chart a new direction,

Let not forget Moon Knight . . .and the Shroud.

Honestly, I can’t remember. I was gratified that they finally finished the storyline, more or less on principle, but I don’t actually recall those issues themselves all that much. Maybe too little, too late?

And, yeah, that Omega “conclusion” was pretty frustrating, too.

That was kinda a thing at Marvel back in those

Yikes. Our good guys are really taking a beating this season, both physically and emotionally.

I was hooked on McGregor’s run back in the late seventies, and was greatly vexed when it was shut down to make room for Kirby’s run, which ignored the McGregor’s stories and characters entirely. (The Panther versus the Klan storyline, which was cut off in midstream, was not concluded until YEARS later.)

Exactly. Wakanda is mentioned in AVENGERS 2,as the place Klaw stole the vibranium from, but the big battle with the Hulk took place somewhere in South Africa. (Not that the captions helped by simply identifying the location as “Africa” or something like that.)

But, no, we have not seen Wakanda onscreen yet.

Great news. I was wondering what happened to those comics.

I actually picked up the most recent SABRINA twice because so many months had passed that I assumed the most recent one at the comic book shop HAD to be a new one . . . .

That may have flown over my head then. :)

“Humor . . . it is a difficult concept.”

I’m confused. How is six years (!) “too soon”? Most TV revamps of hit movies debut within a year or two the original film, while the movie is still presumably fresh in the audience’s mind.

A bit of historical perspective:

THE ODD COUPLE debuted as a TV series only two years after the feature film. Ditto for MASH,

TIME AFTER TIME, of course. It’s a sci-fi time-travel thriller AND a fish-out-water comedy AND a delightful. Malcom McDowall and Mary Steenburgen have so much chemistry they ended up getting married in real life . .. .

No whooops needed. I’ll be curious to hear what people think of the book.

But . . . but the EMH and Seven were the two best characters on the show and they sung that lovely duet in “Somebody to Watch Over Me.”

Whereas Seven/Chakotay is a failed chemistry experiment if ever there was one.

I’m biased, but you can judge for yourself in October. :)

Thanks! I’m actually making some final revisions on the LIBRARIANS book this week.

Mind you, that bit with the rebar was not exactly a laugh-riot . . .

(Wince at memory.)

Tell me about it. I’m weeks behind on SLEEPY HOLLOW and GRIMM, and lately Monday nights mean choosing between SUPERGIRL, X-FILES, and CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND . . ...
