Ah, but you included THE GREEN HORNET, who also originated on the radio and predates superhero comics. (He was basically a modern-day update of THE LONE RANGER.)

And does Zorro count as a superhero? He’s got the mask, the cape, the secret identity, the secret headquarters, and faithful sidekick . ...

And because I can’t resist being That Guy: I would’ve included BARBARELLA, although I suppose you can argue that she’s more akin to FLASH GORDON (also from the comics) than a superhero.

And what about THE SHADOW and DOC SAVAGE, MAN OF BRONZE? Granted they’re from radio and the pulps, not comics, but if we’re going to

Fun article. And I can testify that SUPERARGO AND THE FACELESS GIANTS got a theatrical release; I remember seeing it at the Midway Drive-In when I was a kid. And, yes, I remember being thrilled to see an actual costumed superhero on the big screen . . . especially since I had no idea what the movie was about before it

Does it strike anyone else as odd that there don’t seem to be any deals on, er, books?

Given that amazon started out as a bookseller .....

Has anybody checked on Tod Browning’s head?

I understand that Harley is the big draw here, but I’m hoping to see more of Enchantress at some point, since I have a soft spot for the spookier corners of the DC Universe . . ...

Let it be noted that Eiling has been a recurring villain on THE FLASH tv show, played by Clancy Brown. And Amanda Waller was previously seen on SMALLVILLE, and that our first live-action Harley was on BIRDS OF PREY . ... ..

Also, the 1972 movie version of TALES FROM THE CRYPT, in which it’s revealed that, surprise, they’re all dead and going to Hell!

Also, every third episode of THE GHOST WHISPERER. (Don’t judge me.)

“Mr. Mom as Batman? That’s going to bomb for sure.”

Except when Batman was blue and gray, like in the TV show.

(Yes, showing my age here.)

Exactly. Just like Ledger had to do something other than imitate Jack Nicholson . . . or Cesar Romero.

Heck, remember HAL singing “Daisy, Daisy” in 2001?

And, thanks to the X-FILES, I still can’t hear “Wonderful, Wonderful” without thinking of inbred cannibalistic hillbillies . ...

See also “Blue Velvet” . ...

Me, too. One of my favorite Vincent Price movies—with bonus Diana Rigg goodness.

“It must be Lionheart. Only he would have the temerity to rewrite Shakespeare!”

I understand. Not trying to be cranky. Just couldn’t help noticing that there were listings for Movies, TV, Comics, Games, and even Cosplay, but nothing about books, despite all the authors and editors and publishers in attendance.

Why, I hear there were even big-name authors doing book signings at the Tor booth . . .

I remember seeing the “Brimstone” ep in late-night reruns at some point. Can’t remember if it was on A&E.

Time to put on my AVENGERS soundtrack, I think.

And let’s not forget her playing Vincent Price’s beautiful daughter in “Theater of Blood.”

And then there was that time she married James Bond . . . .

You beat me to the punch. This is all the funnier when you remember that the AVENGERS tv show did a spoof of the Adam West show back in the day: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt051694…

Oh yeah, THE AVENGERS tv show did “The Hellfire Club” plotline at least a decade before THE X-MEN comics did. Heck, I always assumed that “Jason Wyngarde” in the comics was a deliberate homage to Peter Wyngarde, who played the leader of the Hellfire Club in the tv episode.
