Mostly irrelevant. Live near subway/bus and can walk to where I need. 85% of miles it sees are fun, 15% for mundane trips for family and clients.

Didn’t link to it, but was aware of it.
Call me crazy: 987.2 Spyder top is better.
Miata has had 25+ years to prove itself. The FURSBRRS just get ragged on just like Miatas did 20 years ago. It’s history repeating itself.
I mentioned this in a response to another comment. One of the biggest advantages of roadsters is you feel how fast you’re going, which matters a lot at moderate speeds. In a BRZ, you definitely have to be pushing it closer to its limit for it to be exciting. Something like a Porsche Cayman can feel boring if you…
Ding! Winner.
Gearing is the same, yes. It’s why I do the “nighthawk” thing. I do my fun driving somewhere between midnight and 6AM, in the middle of nowhere.
Well, had a Miata for a decade, and have driven a lot of FURSBRRS in the past few years, so I can say where the two really differ.
C63 doesn’t have wide tires (275s out back?), and it makes well over 400lb-ft of torque. As a result, tires on the drive wheels wear pretty quick. Also, yes, these are maximum performance sticky summer tires, not symmetrical rock hard LRR all-seasons made to last 60,000 miles on a compact economy car. You’re paying…
Everyone who hates on one of these but doesn’t hate on the Miata baffles me. They have the same exact purpose, with different packaging (one a 2-seat roadster, the other a 2+2 in a pinch, with a bit more cargo space, folding rear seats and a roof). Especially when lots of commenters are very likely driving a…
Didn’t see this when I was writing my own post on the head stud failures.
One issue with the M156 engine is head stud failure. I believe 2011 and earlier model years were affected. Mercedes didn’t issue a recall to affect models with the bad studs in them. Very costly fix if not replaced and then things go wrong.
Sedans have gotten a lot taller nowadays (an S-Class Maybach SS550 4MATIC is 58.7 inches tall!), but man does Bernie look short as a result.
The Mustang outselling Porsche sports cars in Germany is little surprise because of one thing: price. The same reason why Camrys, Corollas, CR-Vs, etc sell in such volume is because FAR more people can afford to buy them.
It would be another few years before BMW developed this motor to its ultimate turbo form, putting out well over 1,000 horsepower
The depreciation curves are longer in the US because we get a ton of cars. There’s far more cars sold here, therefore far more on the used market.
HACK THE PLANET!
Have done Miata on dirt roads as well, but that’s nothing.
Since lots of Jalops complain about cars that aren’t made, and then don’t buy them when they are made, let me ask you this:
