I’ll say this: My wife got vaccinated several weeks ago because she’s a nurse. Two weeks ago I got COVID, as did all four of our kids. She’s had two negative tests despite being the full-time caregiver for a house filled with COVID patients. She hasn’t had any symptoms whatsoever. I know it’s anecdotal, but, I’m a big

Tooooooooooooe pick.

I would cheer on this list (ahem), while also recruiting one more to the team: The Cutting Edge, an incredibly cheesy movie that is about hockey and Olympic figure skating, but mostly about an irresistibly dorky enemies-to-lovers romance.

Take that, Josh Whedon.

It’s missing Babette’s Feast, too.

The existence of cockroaches is one of the big reasons I don’t believe there is a god.

I’m 47. My current batch of checks are so old that they have Looney Tunes characters on them. I think I was 18 or 19 when I got the box, which is still nearly full. I carry one in my wallet to this day, just in case. It’s just comforting knowing that Taz has got my back should I ever need him.

Incorrect. If you go in person you can pay with a credit card, cash, etc. (per Form DS-11)

Doughnuts, like many bread products, make excellent bread pudding.

Can this headline get a second look? Can it be phrased in a way that doesn’t affirm what’s a ultimately a false question? Herd immunity isn’t “suddenly” good, it’s always good. How we get there, and understanding how we get there, are the considerations that we should be mindful, and that this article discusses. “How

I will do a shit job of summarizing, and frankly it was more his sheer confidence in the vaccines than anything else. What he did tell me was stuff you’ve probably already read elsewhere:

Arguably, the overall waste from a year’s worth of this is still probably dwarfed by the cardboard and styrofoam from having one piece of furniture delivered or getting a week’s worth of takeout foot. So I just try to reduce on that end to compensate.

fiberman, I agree that’s something that needs to be changed!!! Unfortunately you’re in the wrong place - i’m 99.999% sure the Red Cross isn’t monitoring lifehacker comment sections for tips on how to improve services. I recommend contacting them directly (if you’re serious about making a difference and not just here

The last time I donated blood, I opted to do a red blood cell donation. It’s a longer process because a machine takes out your blood, filters it to specifically collect red blood cells, and then pumps the rest of it back into you. It took about two hours, so the donation center had a bunch of movies on hand that donors

Currently dealing with what I’m 95% sure is COVID (haven’t gotten test results back but I check a lot of those boxes). Once I’m over it though (knocks on wood) I’m planning on seeing if the local hospital wants my plasma.

Sandwich bread never turns out quite right for me, but I might try this recipe anyway. I still think english muffins are the best bread to make from scratch: unfussy (no kneading!), griddle cooked so you don't have to use the oven in the summer, and they keep better than nearly any other homemade bread. Plus, they

Sohla’s at Bon Appetit now and an utter DELIGHT to watch and read every opportunity.

I don’t really rely on rewards for cash flow so I’m going to keep earning them (Chase Ultimate Rewards points, that is). When travel does start back up I imagine there will be amazing deals, so my current stash of points will be worth even more hotel nights or flights than had I converted them over to cash immediately.

lol you sure about that?
