Yes. This. Context matters.

He had a couple of good years left in him too but he was too big of a distraction for any team to care.

Even 1 mediocre season would’ve put him 2nd in every major record category.
It’s amazing a guy with that talent and absurd work ethic could be so painfully unaware of his biggest weakness.

Let me first say that I do not for even one second deny racism is very prevalent and white privilege is a factor in sports.

This guy gets it.

And he was twice bested in the Super Bowl by Tom Coughlin. A man so mighty and terrifying that Bill Brasky tells stories about him.

For most MMA fans this is the opposite of what they want to see.

Virtually everything Greg Howard has ever written belongs here.

The “effusive praise” is a smokescreen for an obviously passive aggressive statement.

No reason to think he’s teaching himself. He’s a complete idiot as a person but 100% a real martial artist.

His Jiu Jitsu is phenomenal. His boxing is excellent, and I’m sure he studies other disciplines.
It’s unfortunate that he and his brother are such massive idiots, because there’s very few fighters that are so well

+5 for Fuck Sayers

Thank you.

I’ve tried telling several people now: The most exciting new(ish) fighter in the sport getting a clean KO on a guy that’s never even been KNOCKED down in a decade+ career is NOT a bad result.

That’s a jumping up-and-down, lose your mind exciting result.

But the writers that shit on the 76ers have SPECIFICALLY stated that it’s not so much tanking to rebuild that’s the problem, but how they’ve done it. The sixers are 4-5 years in an have made zero progress.

Well aside from the fact that eljte defense alone makes him much better than above average...

I’m glad to hear some Deadspin sentiment of “fuck soccer.”

Because FUCK SOCCER.

Look, I’m not about to suggest that Schwarber is good defensively, but he should be able to improve over the postseason nightmare.
He will still probably be below average but in his defense, he played in AA for the first half of the season exclusively at C and DH, then they called him up and told him to go play

That’s the old system.

Usually you’d probably be right with “ODs happen more often than you’d think,” but I’m a paramedic, so I have a very strong understanding of how frequent they can be. I’ve seen plenty of dead ones, and kept several dozen other from death.

As for Reznor, I actually really like his sober work, but will admit he’s a rare

The look in his eyes (or lack thereof) was much worse to me than his voice. And the half-hearted attempt at enthusiasm.

sensitive much?

Dude’s probably been doing heroin for 30 years, and probably has a couple dozen stints in rehab under his belt. What are you expecting? Honestly, it’s amazing he’s been a junkie this long without an OD. This was likely suicide. Fairly recently, Chester Bennington *shudder* left STP and Wieland expressed a desire to
