I'm sure I'll get hate for this, but I don't believe it should be a college's responsibility to protect their students at all times in every aspect of their lives. There is a ridiculous amount of mission creep in modern universities, in which a college is expected to service every aspect of a student's life

Congratulations for not actually reading the letter.

That detail actually makes me wonder if Madeleine initially prepared the story to be more balanced, but then the headline was changed at the last minute.

Yup. I for one am shocked that Jezebel's reporting could ever be misleading or just plain wrong.

I agree it was shoddy reporting. It makes it seem like she wanted to write an article about how female pop stars have it much worse than male ones, but since the data didn't actually support that, she just left out the male data altogether and hoped we would make the assumption she wanted.

The source article from the Atlantic gives that info. The effect is pretty equivalent for both genders.

This stuff actually can be controversial. There is a long history of scientists ignoring what women self-report about their sexual experiences and telling them that they're just wrong. This goes back as far as Freud's claims that there is something pathological about a woman who orgasms from clitoral stimulation

OK. Sorry I implied ignorance on your part that couldn't really be accurately inferred from your comment.

I think it's a bit more controversial than you realize to say that boobs are "inherently not for sexual use." Obviously their primary purpose is nursing, but organs are not always single-purpose. Many women report that breast/nipple stimulation can cause them to be aroused in much the same way as clitoral

"(This story literally never gets less depressing, does it?)"

Yeah, I got that too. But the pic BrianD posted below works in Google Images, and you can get a name easily from there.

I don't really consider it doxxing to reveal the name of someone who fervently claims to be a public figure. It's not like I want to find his address or contact details. I just wanted to verify how much of a nobody he is.

Thanks, that got me to the answer.

Yup, that's what I was just concluding.

It looks like a few people on Reddit managed to identify him, but their comments were deleted on account of the strict anti-doxxing rules over there. But yeah, he's clearly not a household name.

Here's his picture from Reddit, less blacked out. Can anyone identify?

I'm so sorry those crazy rich people kicked and bit you.

Except that when you Google "boo," you mostly get results about a dog named Boo. That damned racist Pomeranian.
