@ShakespeareGeek: Actually, the Kindle 3's browser is amazing considering the device is not intended for web browsing. I ran an Acid3 test and got 100/100 results, and the boxes rendered correctly (albeit in grayscale). Basically, the Kindle 3 has virtually full HTML standard support, a feat few PC browsers have

@gub: The time it takes to load a DLL into memory is negligible, as DLL's are rarely very large. Take the SDL game programming library for example, the entire library resides in a file less than a megabyte. Even older SDRAM systems would be able to load a file that small to memory extremely quickly. An old fragmented

@Acehalo-2: I don't have a problem with people liking the music produced using Vocaloid, but it's the obsessive fandom behind her that's strange, since it's not like she's a developed character, she's just a face for a face type in Vocaloid.

@AmphetamineCrown: I don't know I'm not a fan, Wikipedia say's its a Welsh Onion.

apparently this woman is "Looking good" because of her glasses. Right.

"I ate vegetarian, or vegan if possible, before dinner."

@gub: An applications performance is not affected by using libraries that are installed as part of the core operating system vs libraries that are included as separate as libraries in the the applications folder.

eBay's helped me out when I'm short of cash, but their policies are entirely buyer-biased, the worst policy being that buyers can leave feedback, but sellers can't respond to that feedback.

@Kamatari +: I agree, the effect works well with some simple artwork, but it rarely produces good results with photos.

@Vondruke: Because it would create more problems than it would fix, such as people sending nasty email, retracting it and claiming they never sent it, or sleazy business retracting payment emails, or malware that would simply retract every email you send, etc.

LOL you should change the article title to:

@sam-a: Nice tip! I always wondered why various DNS settings never seemed to have any effect on Chrome's performance, despite slight improvements in Firefox/IE (if that's possible for IE ;)

@Hearthatvoiceagain has not been compromised: Would if I could, but all of the few ipod/iphone syncing extensions for media players like foobar, winamp, etc are seriously buggy and generally don't work that well.

@John: That's bizarre, because all DNS servers do is resolve a domain name to an IP address, once you're connected to a server (at least using HTTP or FTP, both of which use TCP connections) the DNS server is no longer involved in the connection proccess, henceforth it has no effect on your actual download speed, just

@Sprzout: It's actually likely intentional "unoptimization" by Apple. An app such as iTunes should be fairly easy to port, and its specific use of drivers minimal to non-existent.

@MattyMattMatt: I disagree, some people are really hard to think of gifts for, a good example are geeks (I'm one, no shame in being one :). Computer geeks, anime geeks, etc geeks, can be very difficult to think of gifts for by the average person. I for one would be incredibly happy if I opened my gift to find a Radeon

@Brownh0rnet: Good thing someone told you that the $4.95 is paid by the purchaser, but if it turned out there was such a hidden charge, why would you blame your step-brother? Chances are he like you saw the the "No Fees After Purchase" written on the package and assumed just that. I don't see how it would be his fault

Enough with the lie detection posts already, tricking the truth out of people is just going to further reduce peoples confidence in you.

I agree Security Essentials is a good AV suite, definitely one of the best free ones, but Eset NOD32 is by far the best AV scanner around, it barely consumes any memory or CPU cycles, yet still manages to have the best detection rate.
