From my experience, it both automatically enters offline mode, and automatically switches back to "online mode" when the connection is available again. A strange feature, but it really doesn't have any impact, at least on me.

Generally only a book, not because I have an issue with having electronics in my proximity when I'm sleeping, moreso because in the late evenings/night I'm generally sitting at my desk using my PC, when I go to bed, I generally intend to read or sleep.

Most casual liars (i.e, they were supposed to do something, but forgot/procrastinated, basically people who are lying because they feel guilty) will own up if you ask them seriously a second or third time, especially if you're calm and not acting like you'll bite their head off if they admit.
