What exactly do the malicous links point to/do? Both this post and the article just mention being fed into a redirect loop. What happens when you click them and how is whatever malicious code on the other end propagating (as in how does it hijack your account)

@Strangeite: That's interesting that they actually used as a real experimental file system in the movie, but knowing how to navigate a file system doesn't mean you instantly know exactly how to control every application every made for the OS that file system is used by. Knowing a file system is only a tiny part of

@Riff-Raff: 1. "Introducing the new and improved... Spatula Holder! Yes, it's block of wood that has a slot for each and every spatula in your collection, no more rummaging around the drawer looking for each spatula!" Both are good options, but I had to reply since your first point in favor of modular spatula's

@Spy: SPAH SAPPIN' MAH SENTRY!

@gobeaubien: Sure, there's always the chance, but it sure is quite a coincidence that right after releasing a huge government leak an arrest warrant with rape charges is put out for him. And of all things rape charges, its like one of those things you read in a book/watch in a movie where you wonder how anyone

I think its pathetic and immature on his part for releasing information that could threaten the security of troops overseas and diplotmatic relations between America and other countries, but its hilarious how just after he released the first huge Afghanistan leak an arrest warrant with rape charges is put out for him,

@Se7en_speed: Because exploit-based attacks are virtually impossible to differentiate from normal traffic, and simply disconnecting from an entire continent would cause much more damage than a specific sector being slowed down by the actual attack.

Sorry for the TL;DR post ;) :

@redfalconf35: I'm not saying Notepad++ is the best text editor out there, but you must admit, its certainly a good text editor for programmers who want to do some programming on the fly. Of course it doesn't replace an IDE, an IDE and a text editor are meant for different purposes. For large projects an IDE is a

Notepad++ is really nice if you're a programmer, due to its syntax formatting support for many popular languages, though console based text editors like Vim are best for technicians/network admins on the *nix platform as they allow for quick additions and changes to the OSes configuration and setup files. They also

@GetOutOfBox: Damn, where's the edit icon when I need it, my Grammar Nazi alarm went off when reading the first sentence (hint: addition)

@sweenish: I'm talking about real world scenarios, not synthetic benchmarks. Yes, I know its scores much higher in calculation benchmarks, but in terms of the usual implementations of javascript (dynamic menus i.e DHTML, login scripts, form parsers, etc) the speed is unlikely to be noticable, and from my experience

What is with this paranoia of flash exploits? I havn't even heard of anyone I even remotely know having their system infected or exploited via flash.

Fuck, my essay is loaded with the word "The". Back to the drawing board.

I'm not going to spout some "holier-than-thou" moral speech, but student discounts aren't that common, and the actual discount isn't usually that amazing. It's not really worth the effort and the possible raised eyebrow from a store employee who is surprisingly not in a coma.

@Whitson Gordon: That's a good point, with a swivel mount, this could actually be an interesting edition to any house. The only issue will be having to cut off everyone who enters the house before they say something like "Wow, you're actually that obsessed with computers that you have a virtual fire in your fireplace,

The new features in Firefox 4 will be cool if SVG/HTML5 use for web games/apps becomes more prevalent, but at the moment, I don't notice a huge difference.

The only time I would send any part of my computer out for repairs was if their was an issue with the part on the circuit level (i.e bad capacitor, etc). I know how to replace capacitors/resistors, etc, but my hand isn't steady enough for the tiny level of control needed to solder in those microscopic parts without

"I jizzed, in my pants"

I don't really feel GMod counts as a mod anymore, its gotten so complex, has a huge set of independent features and things to do, implementation of its own scripting engine, etc. Even technically speaking its not really a mod anymore, since Garry got access to most of the Source Engine. I think we can safely call it
