He should watch this video of Tim’s experience driving a Rivian in California. It should be noted that Tim is pro-EV, he has owned and still owns EVs, but his recent experience could explain maybe why people still will want to buy ICE, for a while at least...

Weird human nature about getting passed on the road. I normally drive on a two lane canyon road on the weekends, and you will occasionally get someone driving below the speed limit. Once you try to pass them legally, they speed up for some reason to try and stop you passing them.

Not always the case, depends on the battery type.

I think the plug-in hybrid is the way to go for full size trucks in the immediate future at least.

Sure it’s possible, but maybe it wasn’t? Keep his head up? How do you know he wasn’t? Again, the only view you have is the camera a foot above his head with an unobstructed view.

So you agree that he didn’t have time based on the circumstances of the situation and the visibility afforded to him?

He braked heavily to avoid the crash, locked up and he crashed in front of the McLaren, he could have tried undercut and go below him if he wanted to risk it.

Did you watch the inboard, he really didn’t have time to react, I would not blame him for this.  Instead he reacted the best he could and decided to crash into the wall instead of risking going low and likely hitting the McLaren.

I do both full size and 1/10th scale off-roading, I can tell you the passion and interest is pretty equal to both scales of the hobby.

I agree with the cities or centers where that is possible, but you realize how big the non-city centers are in the US, especially in the mid and west coast?

I think it’s also people who don’t have a garage to charge, there is some worry there.

Doesn’t that apply to any vehicle of any type? They become obsolete in terms of technology, doesn’t make them useless, just no longer state of the art like when they were released.

This is not really about this article, but the trend on Jalopnik that has been mentioned many times. Many of the articles have an under-current of anti-car in some way or shape.

So have I, I normally just ignored those “nitwit” complaints as over sensitive or too reactionary, but now I’m complaining.

Do people who write for Jalopnik actually like cars?

My Chrysler Crossfire. Though less a “bad” car, and more of an unpopular one.

Sure I guess, what particular “right” EV would that be?

When has EVs meant going small/efficient, especially for GM?

Good point, when you can get a new Model 3 for $28,000 (Fed & State Rebates) or less, why would anyone buy a used one for a higher asking price.

Is that true?  I saw somewhere that EVs had the biggest depreciation hit.
