Based on the recent history of the series, I'd prefer an iOS port of one of the originals. At least that's more difficult to fuck up, though if there's a way to fuck it up Square will find it.

Brian, great article and I agree with most of what you said. Sorry to say I found a typo:

I was just bitching on the other article about how coverage of gender and gaming is exclusively negative on Kotaku. Proved me wrong - good post, and I think an important one to focus on progress rather than flaws.

I really think Sony's last chance on this is to make this thing a phone. I think they're turned off from the idea because of how the Xperia Play fared, but the Xperia Play came out RIGHT BEFORE THE VITA. Way too late.

I should qualify this again - this critique is aimed at the article's objectivity, not the movement itself. Even if the Tweets are systemically negative and possibly systemically exaggerated, that doesn't mean they can't launch a very productive conversation about gender in a traditionally male-dominated workplace.

While I certainly don't dismiss the possibility of widespread sexism in the game industry (don't know enough to make a judgment on it either way), I think these Tweets are pretty easily dismissed at least as far as their information value in concerned. The article should at least acknowledge that this is a profoundly

For me, it definitely depends on the game and the context.

Screenshots or it didn't happen

I'd like to think of the WiiU more as an end to the current console generation.

Come on guys - missed headline pun opportunity.

As WoW becomes more and more obsolete on every level, and users begin to trickle out, Blizzard is going to have some very tough questions to ask themselves. Do they go free to play? Do they release a sequel? Do they do nothing? I think the MMO genre is more up in the air than people think right now - after a wave

Do not listen to the lizard Jew! He is trying to control your mind with his hypnotizing chameleon eyes!

Evan, the trailer made this movie look infinitely stupid, so now that you've indicated it's a thoughtful movie with thematic substance I am going to blame you if I waste my money and time. This is on YOU now.

Does anyone who DIDN'T play the original Half Life have any comments on the game?

Kickstarter doesn't remove the need for a publisher - publishers usually finance development at their own cost of capital and help maximize revenue from the game upon its release. Even with publishers, Kickstarter can be win-win: if I have extra cash right now just sitting in a savings account and don't need it in

I think Red Skull is a pretty cool guy. Eh kills americans and doesnt afraid of anything.

Here's the announcement I'm waiting for by Sony given their ostensible new "laser-like focus":

I'm still waiting for Obsidian to get the go-ahead from Square Enix to make a licensed Chrono sequel.

I always thought Bioware's "moral choice" genre would lend itself well to historical fiction if they had decent writers. Civil War would offer some pretty interesting choices, in my opinion.

He is so offensive with his strong moral compass, sense of duty, and disdain for bullying! Why can't he be more like the Punisher?!
