My business partner and I are in the tech industry (we're both founders and are women). We'll go to the huge conferences and all the other women (maybe 10% of the attendees) will be wearing super nice dresses and shoes. We don't own clothes like that, so we'll show up in collared shirts, black jeans, leather jackets,…
Not to mention physical necessities of being a cis woman. Why are pads and tampons so goddamn expensive??? Why aren't they effing subsidized if 50% of the U.S. needs it??
I like this guy! Just to add to the points he was making- this also has obvious financial effects as well. Women are expected to wear different and reasonably on trend clothing, shoes and makeup. Men can get by with about three suits, a couple pairs of shoes, a dozen shirts and ties for years!
But sometimes you just want to hit someone in a place where society has already softened them up.
That's perfect! A friend of mine with cronic depression mostly refuses treatment, says she's not sick. The kicker? She's a psychologist. I get so angry I could spit over this attitude.

Yeah, I wish her response had been more focused on how his personality sucks. But I can get behind a woman jumping ferociously to the defense of her friend, even if it's not perfectly executed. Lord knows I have said some stuff I'm not proud of when somebody was shitty to my friends.
