I've never been to Vancouver BC, but I imagine it must be a positively surreal experience for a sci-fi fan and/or someone who watches way too much basic cable. Given the sheer number of movies and series shot there, it must be more unusual to have a day where you don't spot several people you recognize from one show

This is one of the few movies where i prefer the theatrical release to the director's cut, for one reason: In the DC, you don't see Tim Curry until about 3/4 the way through the movie, and then Maverick kicks his ass and he's gone. What's the point of designing THAT costume and then only showing it for a few minutes?

"Awesomely Bad" basically describes the entire oeuvre of Albert Pyun. I don't think he ever quite achieved quite this level of WTF-ness again, though, more's the pity.

I just watched the dvd a few weeks ago, and I'm with the rest of the thread; it holds up amazingly well. Especially Vermithrax herself, considering those sfx are over 30 years old.
