“No such thing is possible. In the Talmud, in the Jewish tradition, it says when that part of the male anatomy is aroused and there’s an erection, the brain flies out of that and we have to take that very seriously, so I don’t agree with that.”
Note to self: never sleep naked in a bed with Dr. Ruth unless I’m willing to put out.
She IS of another generation, but she is 100% wrong. And totally, she should continue to, very respectfully, hear how she is wrong.
Dr Ruth????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This saddens me so much.
Nope, nope, nope. Catholic grad, here, as well, and no fucking way should a school dictate that I need to wear a dress. Choose a color if you like, that’s cool, but don’t tell me I need to show skin or wear something feminine. I’m graduating from school, not presenting myself for a gyno appt., gender is irrelevant.
Why was it dickish on her part?
Any political strategist will tell you the most important part of any presidential campaign is the lifestyle brand.…
It’s not a major coincidence that the people most likely to criticize Emma and Anon above are often huge fans of Ayn Rand and cannot begin to imagine why a person might sacrifice their own comfort in service of unnamed others.
Something bad happened to a woman? SHE MUST’VE HANDLED IT WRONG. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT IF YOU AREN’T PERFECT YOU DESERVED TO BE A VICTIM. SHE MUST’VE BEEN ASKING FOR IT. VICTIMS ARE WHO WE SHOULD REALLY BLAME.
One of the things I value so much, reading this story, is how clearly it shows the way that reporting someone isn’t always and shouldn’t be assumed to be a horrible excision of deep personal trauma—that the author reported him with the primary goal of keeping other women safe.
She did go to the police but ended up dropping it because she didn’t want to deal with the investigators. It may sound stupid but investigations into sexual assault are exhaustive and some people are not emotionally capable, ready, or willing to deal with that.
I really fucking hope tons and tons of people read this and realize that assault is a serious thing, and for some reason we keep treating it as ‘women are just lying bitches’ and THAT’S NOT FUCKING OKAY.
At this point, I should be used to seeing backlash against Emma Sulkowicz, but I still wasn’t fully prepared for…
This is not a sexual activity, this is a psychological activity. If this is puppy-play (and it probably is), a lot of the time it’s not seriously sexual at all. Part of the POINT of it is that it’s innocent; you’re pretending to be something totally innocent and free.
Consenting adults? A’ight then. You do you.
My only takeaway from this is that I really, really want to see Maria Abramovic deliver a powerpoint presentation.
soiled myself, not proud
