I mean, I think most people probably enjoy Alien for it’s setting and structure - a sci-fi slasher movie in space - but I feel like the sexual/rape themes are pretty hard to miss, even if people don’t necessarily recognize the significance of every single accoutrement. 

Maybe I’ve just taken a few too many film classes but I always thought the rape and sexuality of Alien were fairly obvious themes.
