When Obama was flinging free “green” money around, an electric car company “planned” to build a manufacturing plant. The state/county/city pretty much doing gave them a prime location in an industrial park......and then nothing.

You just haven’t tried.  They actually have a decent sized trunk for a small car.

Even if you aren’t “cash strapped”, it is nice to have a reliable, efficient  daily driver that doesn’t constantly need maintenance.  They just keep going year after year.

We have a crew cab truck that has “plenty of room for trips”...that never gets driven on trips because of the shitty gas mileage. The Civic gets driven to the beach.

6 speed 2.0 is kinda fun...and gets good mileage

I wonder what the ratio is between cars that are actually stolen and people getting out of a bad purchasing decision by making the car go away.

Being small doesn’t make them significantly cheaper to build. Small cars usually have the same number of parts as big cars. The tooling cost to build a car part is similar whether it is going on an econobox or a luxury car. The biggest difference is if you can divide tooling cost between 1,000,000 cars or 10,000 cars.
