A really high gas tax would be super regressive in the US. The people least prepared to handle a gasoline tax are the people least capable of replacing their cars with an EV or moving closer to work.

You’re ignoring all of the incentives that went into fracking for natural gas... without it, natural gas would still be quite expensive. The last decade and a half have turned natural gas around because we incentivized getting it out of the ground.

Your point overall stands, but not many people understand why natural

Neutral: The Democrat messaging is that there is something wrong with being successful, that we need to blame those that are successful, and we need to hold those that are successful accountable for being successful. It goes against the American dream, and really rubs a large part of the country the wrong way.

That may be true, but if it is, that makes a strong case to me that EVs aren’t ready for prime time and R&D dollars are best used making ICE vehicles more efficient instead.

Fewer miles traveled means the annual fuel savings drops. So paying a premium is harder to justify. Also, with fewer people willing to fly long distance road trips are increasing.

It can be, but companies have a hard time continuing to exist if they continue to spend cash while not bringing any in.

Without, but there’s just a big panel on the bottom you open up and stick a bunch of D-cells in. Plus one 9-volt for the controller.

What nobody seems to be looking at is how often the tires were replaced, and at $700-1100/set of 4 (sometimes they only replaced 2 at a time).

Get it so Americans don’t need a car at all.”

Everyone was excited about Tesla because it was supposed to be a good start with a downward price trend. Battery technology and manufacturing scale were supposed to make the Model 3 a car for the masses. Instead, all other manufacturers are trying go more upscale and wondering why no one is biting. We all want the

Ya, basically we need the Corolla of EVs. Dammit batteries! Imagine $15K EVs with 500 miles of range?
