Low cost ICE vehicles that got good gas mileage basically got legislated out of existence. The subcompacts are pretty much all gone. They can’t meet the upcoming fuel economy standards. ...pretty much the exact opposite of what Al Gore / Obama dreamed of.

Not to mention keeping big truck traffic off of city streets.

How in the hell is anybody gonna bolt 22" rims to that?  Can’t sell in ‘merica without 22s.

Jeep Baja Bug

Obama fuel rules, the gift that keeps on giving. ......it is killing off the sub-compacts that I like to drive.

The Japanese built Yaris sedan is OK with a manual trans. I have one. It is super reliable tranportation that should last forever.

YOU GOTTA HAVE A TRUCK TO HAUL ALL THAT TOILET PAPER BACK FROM SAMS CLUB!!!!

Those camaro 18" steelies on my 1954 Studebaker

That thing ate a bunch of tires!!!!

Compliance vehicle...or they understand their market. ....people in big cities.  Rural folks really aren’t shopping electric.

If a significant amount of water froze solid, there is a really good chance that you cracked the block.

I don’t trust buying used. We buy new, base model compacts from either Toyota or Honda. ...and drive them into the ground.  No need to worry about re-sale value.

I drive a manual Yaris and my wife drives a manual Civic...I never thought I would be a one-percent-er, but I guess I am.

What happened to the last plant that GM closed and then sold to a company that was going to save the world? ....GM Shreveport Assembly that was sold to Elio Motors so they could build 3 wheeled 100 mpg “cars”.

neutral: Years ago, my parents went shopping for an Oldsmobile at a big dealership in Memphis. The probably had 40 cars of the model/trim that my parents were looking for....none of them did not have an obvious cosmetic defect. Some had ugly body panel matches, some had scars in the leather. None looked ok at less

1st gear:  The auto industry figured out that the current crop of dem. presidential candidates don’t have a chance of beating Trump and have to plan for more of the same for four more years.

If you pay yourself to buy an EV.  $454,000,000,000 is $3,000 from every working US adult.

Other than it will cost every working man and woman $3,000 in taxes to get that sweet $3,000 rebate.

Do the math. There are 153,000,000 working age people that actually work. If the plan is going to cost $454,000,000,000  (government money comes from tax-payers)...those working people are going to have to shell out roughly $3,000 to get a $3,000 rebate.  God that is a wonderful plan.

There are currently 298 “new” Chevy Volts on cars.com.  Nissan has 974 new Leafs there.  It says there are “over 1 thousand” new bolts.
