My sister had a Suburban (6.2 liter with 410 hp?) that would kickdown and then go straight for 100 mph when you hit the resume button on the cruise control. On dry streets it was fun. ...On wet streets it would scare the shit out of you.

This country builds a shitload of cars capable of burning E-85. Very few people actually burn E-85 in their vehicles.

Outselling Prius sounds like a huge accomplishment...but holy shit have Prius sales tanked! I didn’t realize they had fallen so much until I just looked up the numbers.
Those same characteristics will also be required for EVs. For the general public to want an EV bad enough to actually buy one...they will have to be great cars. Second or third best, will be a hard sell.

Tree huggers only buy cars that are obviously green from 500 ft.
