Why do you think they are doing that? If people can replace a worn-out battery on their still working fine for them phone they will be much less likely to upgrade, especially now that phone subsidies have pretty much gone away and they are looking at $600+ to buy a new top-level phone.

Also, instead of trying to shave down the camera bump, why not try to get away from the “omg so slim” nonsense and make the phone thicker with a bigger battery! A bigger, removable battery! Two removable batteries! Or sturdier with a bigger, removable battery?

This. And I cannot understand why I catch so much shit in the comments for saying a removable battery is a necessity. Batteries fail. Not always, but they certainly lose their ability to hold and take a charge over time. Most likely sooner than you will get a new phone. Its ridiculous.

The galaxy series died for me when they took away a removable battery. I know batteries are better now, but for example, I recently replaced my factory battery in my LG G4 with a higher capacity battery and it gets double the life. I should have that option. It sucks.

You would have to rotate the sensor, not the lens. That’s a much taller order.

SD slot is nice but without a replaceable battery, I won’t be adding to my collection of Galaxy phones (S1, GNex & S4).

What’s amazing to me is that we were already so far along with predicting the complete shape from fundamentals before getting whole molecule visual confirmation. It’s not sharp enough for super detailed work (yet), but this will probably be great for verifying results in many cases.

It is one thing to categorize pixels and a wildly different thing to decide what to do about that and how. How much should I steer right or left according to those categorizations ? What are the priorities ? What will be the dynamic effects on the current state of the car ? Etc.
