I will post about the running costs sometime next week hopefully. Mine is at 45,000 miles and has been one of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned. As I also drive like a grandpa and mine is manual, the clutch seems to last forever. Seriously. If there was no snow up here, I would drive the damn thing every

Depends how you maintain these. If you keep them in perfect condition, it does mean you have deep pockets. Now, if your BMW 750iL has 22" chrome wheels and super dark windows, well, that tells right there you are the ghetto owner.

You are only missing one other known issue (not widespread but it is definitely there): the timing chains stretching. Can be fixed at home if you know how to turn a wrench but if you need to get someone to do it, not cheap at all.

Give me time... Already close to 50,000 miles.

After all it is AWD. Some good tires and a snow plowing attachment and nothing can stop you. 570HP plower.

I honestly think I did a pretty good job with mine, trying to stay as close as possible to stock, with some nice touches. The top two pictures are recent, since the addition of the Italian stripes.

And all that smoothness. All my God.

Keep in mind the M73 does not suffer from the timing chain/VANOS issues on the 740s... I say that as an E38 M73 owner.

Spot on. Mine is one of the well maintained examples. The damn thing is built like a tank and if you take good care of it, nothing rides like the 750iL. I say that as someone that has 3 BMWs at home, 2 Porsches, 1 Lamborghini and several other cars. E38 750iL is by far my favorite and one of the best cars I have ever

I will have to disagree with you Doug. My E38 BMW 750iL certainly demanded some substantial maintenance (and money) but this is not because the car is unreliable. I can list some of the issues I had with the proper justification on why these happened so you and your readers can see why this is a myth (same myth as

44,000 miles here and counting. Zero reliability issues. Shown here with my Co-Pilot, 4 year old Anthony. :-)

People do not understand a simple thing: whatever action you take, regardless of being legal, that will certainly lead to road rage, should be avoided. You never know who is driving the other vehicle and which actions, legal or not, they may take. Is it worth risking your life and potentially other ones just to prove

Agreed. That is why I still have my 2001 986 S with many mods (tasteful). 340hp on the dyno off the 3.2 liter M96. So far beat every 996 we met at the track. LOL

Go for it. Had many Porsches in the past and now have a Cayenne and a 986 Boxster, that shares the same IMS/RMS issue mentioned. First of all, it is overblown. BIG time. Of course a search on Google will show you the details but keep in mind people, Jalops included, go to the internet forums when they have problems

All I can see now is the pig face from Angry Birds. Geez. Stuck to my head.

Copy Cat.

Love it. And I say that as a Lamborghini owner, hated by many Ferrari owners in the town I live.

These Range Rovers are unstoppable things indeed.

Much parts and repairs? Wait until you get an E38 with the V12 M73. LOL. Been there, done that.

That is exactly what I told Doug DeMuro. His answer to that letter was pretty generic and assumed a certain budget. My answer to him was I bought my Gallardo off a friend that always took great care of the car, a 6-speed manual, production #396. It was the show car Lamborghini made and brought all over the world to
