Oscar Grant wishes he had been dealing with this cop.

but less than a foot to his left there was nothing but bricks

I really wish they'd responded. Even for the very lowest levels, football has to be a high-cost endeavor, so they must get something from it. I wouldn't see much changing, but it would be nice to hear from someone who knows things.

So powdered milk works for cooking? I was unaware. The only powdered food I have experience with is powdered eggs, and that's unfit for any use except serving at a dining facility.

I don't know about that... Ricotta is the point of lasagne, in my mind. I'm not certain I would bother if I couldn't get it.

If you're anything like me, its freezer life will be much longer than it needs to be. Of course, if you're like me, your lasagne's counter life will be long enough to eat the whole thing. As for Pyrex, as far as I know, it can do anything except survive a three foot drop.

I don't know about this one, but for mine, I use about half the weight of dried noodles as meat and each cheese. So eight ounces of noodles, and a pound each of meat (half hot Italian sausage and half ground beef), mozzarella, and ricotta. The other ingredients I use are pretty much done by feel.

I actually don't keep milk at my place unless I have a plan for it. It seems like it always goes bad the day before I want it.

I bet Jack Dickey uses American cheese in his lasagna.

You're, like, two hours too late. I just went to the grocery store to buy stuff for my lasagne, but I've always wanted to try one with béchamel. One of your best columns, though.

Just stated on WEEI: one of the other broadcasters told their announcers that it was "impossible" to hear from the bullpen when you're in right field during a game. They then went on to say curmudgeonly things about faking a call for a fly ball. Take what you will from that, I guess.

Ah, so they are. I suppose that's a good enough reason to not include.

Wow! The first one of these lists with which I completely agree!

This is really interesting stuff! It might be nice if you included the calculations for DYAR and DVOA, though. I didn't even realize there were Sabermetrics-style stats for football before this.

Oh, man, I hope that nobody backs down in the Rodriguez-MLB fight. It's going to be SO MUCH fun to watch.

100% with you on this. Getting hit by a car for #1!

Ha! The funny bit will be when all the Angelenos are just as bundled up in their fifty degree weather as the places with actual winters.

Dramatic Howard is my favorite character ever. I certainly hope that somebody with Photoshop skills will start editing his arm across iconic photos.
