Completely agree. FC1, 3 and 4 were all great games or even more (FC3 did spawn the mighty Blood Dragon and for that it'll always have a special place), but FC2 was the more down to earth believable, tense and immersive experience of the whole bunch, and overall one of the most immersive experience to be had in a

Cheers to that. I'll respect H1Z1 if it manages to succeed where the others have failed.

Welp good luck to you ^^ I'm no fan of zombies (in fact that's a euphemism) so I'll pass but I could understand DayZ's appeal... at the time. I guess if I get some funny videos out of it like I did DayZ it'll smoothen my view of it!

Ok ok I know: don't say anything if you have nothing good to say but I really, REALLY cannot fathom the interest of H1Z1. It's not original, it's not pretty, it's not less buggy or more polished than the army of clones out there, it doesn't have more ambitious goals afaik, it's uninspired and... seriously, why is that

I took Vaulters for EL but I haven't play ES, and now I kinda want to. I'm just glad to see original factions for once and the Vaulters are pretty nice ^^ Though I hope they get lasers eventually to replace those crossbows...

I wanted to try Civ again with BE but when I saw it was essentially the same as Civ V I gave up. Then recently picked up Endless Legend and man, it got me hooked at once. I dunno why I can dig this one so much when I've tried over 6 times to get into Civ V and failed but I'm just glad I can finally get into 4x ^^

It is a high standard :P but also, it feels like DA:I did things to lenghten its lifetime on purpose. After all some of the devs worked on both franchises and DA:I could've had something that was a bit more in shape in terms of combat imo. It's all in how you develop your core gameplay at the start.

Props for the ACR :D (My current airsoft gun <3)

See if the tactical camera had been decent, I would have minded the grinding a lot less since it would have changed the core gameplay enough to make it more enjoyable. But even then enemies would have too much HP imo. Scaling difficulty by simply increasing base stats is a somewhat lazy way to approach game design.

I never complained about the "hold R" problem in fact. If I said it feels like a grind it's because enemies have tons of HP that chips away rather slowly. Most of them at least, and even when fighting o the same level as you. My movements still feel slow and inaccurate, and my damage, no matter the skills and gears

I'm just giving you my feeling about the combat in general, how it feels to me. Like I said, I don't have fun with it, and I was surprised because DA:O was more compelling to me on that end.
I'm playing as a Templar based off defense mostly, because I felt like going sword and shield (I usually go mage in these

I wouldn't mind doing the filler stuff as much (I avoid them atm) if the core combat mechanic was fun. As it stands, it's like playing an MMO for me, and I'm not a fan of those. If the combat gameplay was either more geared towards the tactical view or more geared towards action and movement, I would enjoy it much

"There's a lot of ways to die in ACU". Yep. Can confirm. It's starting to spoilt the game for me. If every mechanic in this game wasn't broken, I think I would enjoy it a lot as it reminds me of AC2 in a lot of aspects.
However these days I keep getting stunlocked, gang rushed and Arno has a weird fetish for standing

The UI thing is my biggest pet peeve with how Ubi is handling Far Cry. FC2 was close to being perfect in that respect.

If they give me Far Cry: Jurassic Edition I really don't mind going into the more wacky blockbuster stuff :D But yeah, I wouldn't mind more FC2. In fact when I said no other game hit that spot, Stalker Call of Pripyat kind of did...

And that's exactly what it is. Doesn't make it a bad game (still fun as hell) but I myself won't buy the next installment unless some change is made.

I'm one of those who loved the crap out of FC2. I loved FC3 too and 4 (though 3 left a more memorable impression), but FC2 hit the nail on so many mechanics and ambiance that it's still for me one of the best open world games out there.

It always sounds simple when we play or when we think about it without really working on it but coming up with game ideas/concepts is one hell of a ride indeed, and the process of creating them is even worse. This is a good video about that: Extra Credits - Fail Faster

What you say is true, but xilefian is still right: it's not a good mindset to have. Paying people to make the game YOU want is the best way to end up with really terrible results or no results at all.

Weird I thought this was about the first Gears of War's first Berserk encounter somehow. I mean chest high walls are a trademark of the license and I can remember that part being really scary. But that's just random mind jumping :P
