Honestly the investment in the license seems like wasted money to me. Ubi can already capitalize a bunch on the Far Cry name +... well + dinosaurs. It has good chances to go pretty viral as it would be rather unique in its genre and scope. Having a license would tie them down in terms of story, content and creativity

Dinosaurs. I've said it since far cry first existed: it's the perfect base to use for a survival Jurassic Park styled game. You add smugglers/terrorists in there for the human element but your main predators remain the dinosaurs and you have to scramble for ammo and health to survive a green hell.

Even then, Skyrim was disappointing world-wise because it was mostly monotonous. Very few areas felt really different and most of the game is grey/green/blue. Overrated world imo, especially when compared with the variety Morrowind offered about 8 years before.

3rd act was what was closest to a "good anime" imo, and I even excused most of the free fanservice the show is so fond of.

It's— it's not all bad, I swear ! They're— they're not all like that... Dammit CoD why do you have to make this so hard?!

Hmm haven't checked the facebook so I'll take your word for it. It's stupid, I admit. I don't understand the Nintendo "hate".

Uh, top comment of this article is stating the opposite as if Nintendo was the only light in that bleak, bleaaak gaming world. Generally on Kotaku there's no lack of Nintendo love, for better or for worst, because it's often displayed as senseless propping up and bashing.

Are you the avatar of the Gaming subreddit? Sorry, just can't take that sweeping statement seriously :/ Unless it was an opinion that just happened to be phrased as a statement, in which case, carry on.

Wow you're really living in your own world aren't you. Welp, my mistake, it seems I wasted my time trying to discuss with a person like you.

I started it in french, as I am french myself and well, hearing english in Paris would just feel weird :P

Sorry, still nope, and an even bigger nope. You made several completely out of the park statements and backing them off with (what seems like) impressions. I'm a dev myself and currently, our HQ is pissed and so are our producers because we're going to miss our scheduled release window: christmas. Spending habits are

I'm sorry but you're wrong. These things have been studied times and times again, by different firms, publishers, developers and economists. At this point in time, it's factual.

Despite its many flaws, I enjoyed Remember Me quite a bit. The game was too short and the gameplay too repetitive or wonky but even if the story wasn't a masterpiece, the setting, environnements and pacing gave me a nice ride for the money (got it at like 5$ though...). This one intrigues me. I'm just hoping it's not

And they're right to believe it. As I explained in my post above, we gamers aren't the force to reckon with that we used to be. Nowadays more sales are to be had with the "mindless gamers" (although try not to use terms like that, those people just haven't made gaming their primary pastime and they have every right to

Gaming isn't ruled by gamers anymore. It's a good and a bad thing imo.

Don't think they hoped nobody would care. Most likely they knew they'd have to patch things up later but their HQ pressed for a release in time for Black Friday and Christmas because more money to be made. If us occidentals weren't as predictable buyers as we are (I'm guilty of this to a point :<), we'd likely not see

The huge problem here isn't as simple as publishers pushing studios to ship broken games. It's why they do this. They do this because releasing at a certain time instead of another ensures better sales. A game like Witcher 3 might get away with pushing its release back further but AC isn't as niche as Witcher is. They

Harsh but fair I guess. I trust you'd pass that judgement equally no matter what game from which studio then.

While we agree on the broad points, some things like comparing this situation to a restaurant one just doesn't sit right with me. In no situation can game development and its issues be compared to cooking.

I didn't say anything about forgiving. In fact it's totally normal to still be skeptical long after they hurt your trust.
