Lots of shooters to look up to as an FPS fan, but for me the only surefire at this point in time is FC4. Essentially because it's more of FC3, which I absolutely loved. The rest I'll probably wait for reviews before making a jump since I've been sorely disappointed in 2013 with my early purchases.

Yes the Wii sold millions of systems. Mostly people bought one, played Wii sports, then let it gather dust in a cupboard. They sold a lot of systems and as such a few games did great on it but ultimately this wasn't an entertainement system most people kept in their living room.

FACT: you're a nintendo fan. Sorry, had to do it :)

Very good point you make. It's true kids escaping to kid stuff might seem redundant to them.

Yea popularity is one of the keystones of the industry. Once it becomes popular, it almost instantly floods the market. But having a friend with a WiiU for example is a great way to play some couch coop and relax in a more social manner. That's a strength for Nintendo since Sony and MS aren't really all that focused

I mostly agree with what you're saying ^^. Although people aren't buying the WiiU because it was very badly marketed too... As for the Wii, excellent system selling stats, poor game selling stats in comparison. People bought a Wii then forgot about it a month later, or just played Wii sports or such. But they're still

And MS and Sony have the same articles coming out, so do the major publishers out there, with the same millions of views and whatnot. Did that sell WiiUs? Not that I can see, even if it didn't hurt the sales. It's not about talking business in a paper, it's about marketing, it's about selling your product to a big

I respect your opinion but honestly, that's what it is. You prefer Nintendo and thus the other events seemed blander. That's fine. For me it was the other way around.

Ok see for me this is the opposite of my logic, my opinion. Children games are for children, mature games are for adults. We have these classifications for a reason, even if nobody tends to follow them.

Yes and I acknowledged the nintendo fanbase. I included, of course, their kids ^^. It's still not a big enough public imo. You can't count on generations of fans to sustain you forever, even if you're Nintendo. It's a rather flimsy business model and it can very well break at some point...

Okay, the internet loves Nintendo (hard not to notice). The internet, while a big market, still isn't the only important one. In fact gamers on the internet, while they might have fun with the viral stuff from Nintendo probably are not even majoritarly Nintendo buyers at all. I mean I don't own anything from Nintendo

Well dominated the news day is kind of a big term for that. The point of those E3 physical confs and why publishers and manufacturers pay big money to make them happen each year is that it gives you visibility. Much more so than a live event who mostly only the fans will tune in to will give you. The show, the

EDIT: this is not exactly a rant, just a broad questionning. I also don't have 100% of the facts because I don't follow Nintendo as closely, but I do follow the industry since I work in it.

People are QQing F2P but not all F2P are uninteresting money grabbing schemes. Grow up people. Learn to take the decision by yourself after having the game in your hands at least, since it's free, instead of letting a term take that decision for you.

I think Nintendo fans are by far the most active on the whole internet. I don't think they're that many in numbers, just very very dedicated. Nintendo is lucky for that.

Overall nice E3 prez. For me Ubisoft takes the cake again, surprisingly. Sony and MS are same same in terms of excitement (1st party was kinda weak), EA was disappointing (so many expectations, so little delivered) but the fact Hardline in its entirety leaked early didn't help.

Feels a little too close to BF4 for my comfort, but I'm still on the fence. The solo by visceral + other multi gamemodes might sell me on it yet.

Kotaku has a great many Sony fans. Not that it's a bad thing (I don't care one way or another), but for them, catering a little bit more to them is a good move. Don't look any further.

It's just hard to make big procedural worlds interesting. That's why you have teams of designers on AAA games, to create interesting content. People tend to think that it's not necessary and procedural removes any need for those guys, but they couldn't be more wrong. More often than not, procedural is a boring bust :/

Nope, PC for me. None of the new gen have yet convinced me that they're essential to gaming. Thanks for the info ^^
