Yes! I came here to say this too. Milk actually has a crapload of sugar in it - normally at least 12 grams per cup. That's like if you took a cup of water and stirred THREE TEASPOONS of sugar into it (or emptied three sugar packets into it) and gave it to your kid.

But if you want them to benefit from the sunlight you need to lay off the sunscreen. Or at least lay off it for twenty or so minutes. It blocks the good with the bad you see, and it takes roughly twenty minutes (less for very pale, a bit more for very dark skin) to absorb what a person needs Vit D wise.

Seconded! Milk is one of the shittiest ways going to get healthy bones and the fact that we're still pushing it so hard on kids/families as a 'healthy' option makes me despair.

Check out this great petition posted next to one of the ads: "This ad promotes negative stereotypes and prejudice about weight, race [and] class. Children deserve respect [and] joy. That's what we think."

For rillsies.

We've always called it gleeking. It's awfully embarrassing when it happens as you're talking to a colleague...

It is mind-boggling. They get promoted because the entire system in which they operate is led by men with similar mentalities. If anything, they perpetuate a victim complex among themselves whereby all of these other groups (women, Latinos, blacks, LGBT, etc) are conspiring to tear them down. Their responses (which

My (lovely, wonderful) sister is a psychologist, and believe me, being a psychologist does not preclude one from being a raging, insensitive asshole. She works with a few of these people. One guy (the head of her department) lectures all of the new psychology residents (overwhelmingly women) on how women are ruining

Try the veal! But seriously, folks...

At 7,000 Starbucks eh? What about the Starbucks on the next block?

The practice of victim-blaming makes committing rape and acts of sexual violence EASIER because the assailant knows that there is a good chance there will be little to no consequences (because it will be seen as HER fault).

When words like faggot and pussy are used to demean, they demean faggots and people with pussies. That is not a great equalizer. It's institutionalized homophobia and sexism.

Sorry but NOT SORRY.

You are incorrect. Studies have shown that sexual assault rates are lower in units that do not tolerate sexual harassment.

Sorry, but you are wrong about them not being words to discriminate. That is why you use them.

Misogyny doesn't promote rape no matter how much word throwing feminists do. The main issue in the military is the chain of command that allows this stuff to happen, for instance my friend at west point kept telling how older classmen (their superior officers) could order him to do pushups, take his spot in line etc,

At the very least, if she lives in a very small town it's going to threaten her employment prospects and damage her social life. I expect the local 'mom and toddler' groups will shun her and make snarky comments about the potato salad she brings to the pot-luck bbq.

I'm an American female filmmaker writing from Cannes right now! Holla!

Exactly! It's not even like she jumped at the chance to proclaim herself an atheist. After he asked the question sort of casually, she kind of laughed it off, demurring a bit. If he'd just laughed along and LET IT THE FUCK GO she could have gone about her life without any of this shit.

You're right.
