Wow, I'm surprised they missed this. The real joy of Minecraft is a storybook retelling of Maslowe's hierarchy of needs, and building creative things... thats pretty far up the hierarchy. Without the survival, gathering, and community aspects, the point of building is kinda moot.
My biggest problem with pro gaming is the games themselves. We are never in one place long enough for a game to be considered as classic as football, baseball, soccer, or even poker. All of these are games that have stood the test of time, while video games are constantly evolving.
