Coward, and also just not funny. He was horrible even before the Trump fiasco. He just generally sucks butt.

Having lived for a long time in the upper Midwest, I went the seemingly-polite-but-obviously-incredibly-passive-aggressive route I’ve become accustomed to.
Everyone I know goes away in the end...
Watched VISITOR Q last night. It was very disturbing, though I was expecting that. But you’re right, the structure of it is really smart, and unlike pretty much any other movie I can think of.
Just wanted to add, I love your account name.
Yeah, I get the impression it changed a lot. I moved there in 2012, and I’ll admit part of the reason my impression of it is tainted is because at the time I was going through a breakup, didn’t know anybody out there, didn’t like my job very much (which was in the South Bay, and since it wasn’t a tech firm, I was…
I have this horrible feeling that Kim Jong Un is just going to completely ape Trump. The guy is obviously a vile shitbag, but I get the impression he isn’t an idiot. Trump on the other hand...
Definitely true, those were just the first three that came to mind for me.
Shit, I’m truly sorry you had to deal with that, and that people like the one that assaulted you aren’t getting the help they need.
An astrophysicist, disgraced by the academic community because of his belief that his wife was abducted by aliens (the Mulder in this X-Files riff) and a former LAPD officer that left the force because he blames himself for his partner’s death (the Scully) are recruited by a secret government agency that investigates…
Last I heard, the official statement from Fox is that it hasn’t been officially cancelled and hasn’t been officially renewed.
Sorry you had to deal with that, that’s awful. No, I’m a man, which of course made a huge difference, I should’ve been more clear. I think it just especially annoyed me because I’d moved there after a few years of living on Chicago’s South Side, where I had guns drawn on me a couple times and got punched in the face…
For being so supposedly liberal, housing policy in the Bay Area is fucked up, and they wont admit that lots of the problem is that the residents don’t like poor people. Just a few reasons:
The Bay Area is like that. I lived there for a bit, and people were always surprised that I’d walk through the Tenderloin at night. “Oh, that’s so dangerous!” No, it’s mostly just some homeless people who mean you no harm and are just trying to get by. I’m so glad I don’t live there anymore.
Sorry to hear that, glad you’re doing better. I think what a lot of assholes like this guy don’t realize is just how much fucking work it is to be poor. They see some lazy moocher, but if you’re poor, just to survive takes an insane amount of work.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
I think Cabin Fever is still Roth’s best work, but Hostel is a close second. Agreed, though, just the first one. The others are garbage.
Takashi Miike is a great director. HARA-KIRI: DEATH OF A SAMURAI and THIRTEEN ASSASSINS are both awesome if you haven’t seen them yet.
I can’t imagine finding a friend like that, and hope it’s something neither of us ever have to experience.
