In the words of Malcolm Tucker, he’s so dense that light bends around him.

I was in a shitty rock band in highschool. We “soundproofed” the basement practice area by covering the walls with foam sheets. Was it enough to keep our shitty music from getting to the rest of the house? No. Was it enough to keep my parents from hearing our conversations about how to divide the quarter of weed we’d

Fun fact: the fire at the compound happened on my birthday. It was kind of a downer party that year.

I had to look up “incel.” I’m guessing pretty much every member of that group is an incel.

I was lucky enough to go as a kid, when I was obsessed with the Maya. We hit up Tulum, Chichen Itza and Coba, and it remains possibly the best trip I’ve ever been on.

I love that players are doing this, hope it continues. But I’m also pissed that Trump has managed to turn this into the story, instead of his latest failure to repeal the ACA, or the fact that we flew bombers along the North Korean border to show what big strong boys we are, etc.

Something I’m curious about, as someone with no knowledge of neurology:

Exactly. God, I watched the Breaking Bad finale with about 15 people, and I was the only one who wasn’t complaining about what they did to the “hero” at the end. Don Draper is another example.

Without a sports bottle, how will I avoid concussions?

I miss the days of the Ban Hammer...

Coffee, cigarettes, alcohol.

I was in a charity 5k in college. It was put on by a frat, and was mostly being “run” by hungover frat bros. Myself and my friend were also pretty hungover, but I was determined to try to run it off. I lapped my friend a couple times, who was walking, and on the 2nd time around noticed he was taking a hungover smoke

They keep bumpin’ him against the wall.

I haven’t seen it in awhile, but wasn’t The Fountain all about the nature of love and mortality, and begins with a quote from Genesis?

I haven’t seen it in probably a decade, but you’re probably right. I was an undergrad math major, and we put together a club to eat pizza, get drunk and rip on movies involving math. We didn’t do Pi while I was there, but Good Will Hunting got torn a new asshole.

Hot take, Aronofsky hasn’t made a good movie since Pi. Whether obvious (Noah) or a little more subtle (Requiem for a Dream) all of his movies feel like watching a Protestant air their religious grievances.

Tsuro is great!

I have a “friend” that cuts sandwiches straight across instead of on the diagonal. Is it OK to hit him with my car?

Very agreed. I lived in Minnesota for a few years, and while the death of Prince still grieves everyone the most, Hüsker Dü was probably the next hometown hero, because they didn’t leave them in the dust once they got famous. Hold Steady immediately moved to Brooklyn. The Replacements mostly either killed themselves
