The nice thing about San Diego county, in my experience (admittedly limited), is that you don’t necessarily have to be in San Diego itself to find a decent community - pretty much all of the surrounding cities have their own quirks and uniqueness. It’s not like Orange County where 80% of the towns are just carbon…

I’m glad you like it. LA is great and I miss it. But I couldn’t take the insane CA income inequality anymore (and the classism/racism that are tied into it). I’ll be out here in flyover country fighting the good fight from a location that still has a middle class.

I was talking about locals in AZ. I really haven’t seen much in the news here about this, beyond “they’re not executing anyone”. I’m sure there is still a debate out there here and in other states though.

Is it really coyote fur? From what I remember from way back when I lived there, coyote is classified as vermin in CA; it’s open season on them at all times. This is as classy as wearing a coat of rat or opossum.

I don’t know, though. If someone drives a car to come and kill you, you don’t sue all the car companies. But if killers repeatedly choose a specific car to kill people with because that car has features that make it especially easy to kill people, is there a point where the car company has to take some responsibility?

Very much on the table. The state isn’t executing anyone and hasn’t for a couple years. I don’t think they will, either - at least, the rhetoric in the news out here hasn’t been very “scramble to get some other way to kill people,” from what I’ve seen, and I don’t think many politicians are commenting on it at all.…
