Ahh, the misconceptions of the aircraft designation. You're correct, the "A" does stand for Attack. However, A-10 pilots are trained in Air-to-Air combat as well as Basic Fighter Maneuvers. There are two A-10s with Air-to-Air kills during Desert Storm. Both were helicopter kills, and both were downed via the GAU-8.…

I think "Narrow runway" is the taxiway. They're two different things entirely. C-130 tried to land on the TAXIway due to the light the glow sticks created.
