Yup. Alpha males are who they are and it’s hilarious (if you have a sense of humor).

The story here is that a member of the US Military was promoting a personal/political opinion while in uniform. Doesn’t matter if it was a Bernie, Hillary, Confederate, or a LGBT flag. Who the hell cares what it is, it doesn’t belong on a Military vehicle.

I have many friends and family in the military. They are all grade A jimmy rustlers and do it just for sport. Move along, folks.

Really, it’ll be a suspended slap on the wrist. Even that level of behavior correction isn’t needed for this. A “God damnit, guys. You know you can’t do this shit CONUS.” is probably all that is necessary.

I expect a slap on the wrist and a “don’t do that again” counseling statement.

“I’m not sure if there are any Nightstalkers in the NYC AOR.”

Alternatively it could be a decoy plan. Plane drops 1000s of Cheetos...and now which one is the real one

They train for any environment. They could be doing an urban CSAR mission.

Good point.

Nobody said the pilots are rookies. They are probably pros, but if they are practicing for something that might happen in Manhattan, what better place to train then over Manhattan?

That is exactly what I was thinking. Probably just a dry run to see how hard it would be to evacuate Trump out of Trump tower. The C-130 was probably doing the Command and Control aspect (or they have rescue PJ’s onboard, but I do not see them jumping out at 3000' into a city)

Figured out the same thing after about 15 minutes of googling. It’s the 106th Rescue Wing out of KFOK

Most sensible thing I’ve heard so far.

They’re training over NYC for combat search and rescue???

You don’t generally fly training missions over the most densely inhabited area of the entire United States at low altitude and in circles over a 5-block radius in broad daylight.

This is much more likely to do with our POTUS elect.

The callsign “King” indicates it’s a search and rescue aircraft.

That’s awesome! Have always loved these planes, since I was a kid. If they’re to be retired, it would be awesome to see them re-purposed instead of scrapped.

I do weather research and we need a pilot for an outfitted A-10 that, in a few years, will be able to fly through severe thunderstorms. Can I take that as you volunteering for the job?

Careful now. Thou shalt not take the name of the F-4 in vain!
