I dropped my NY Times subscription in favor of WaPo a few years ago, and I’ve not regretted it for a moment. WaPo’s reporting and editorial work have been consistently stronger for quite a while now. 

But he’s not the only person on the planet who was put out to work and treated as an adult early on.

Similarly aged daughter memory: She saw “cotton balls” on my shopping list, was very excited to go to the store with me.  Full melt down when that didn’t mean “cotton candy”.  I could see her reasoning.
