Even still, I just haven't seen enough benefit to account for the cost. My job requires I work with large files a lot, and honestly if I did what you do the only gain I'd see is when I start up the computer and open a program.

Still no good for me. I need at least 1TB in a drive. Externally, I can't even find one; Internally, the best price I've found is about $2500. If I want that in a HDD I can spend $90 for a decent 7200 rpm drive. For an external I'm looking at about $100. Even at 240gb the SSD is 4 times the cost of the alternative.
