@amyjenc1: Get it through the Republican obstruction and you're in business.

@newgalactic: Social Security does *NOT* contribute to the deficit. Never has, and never will.

@andyengle: DARPA, JPL, NASA, and just about anyone who's ever had a drink of Tang disagree with you.

@icfan: Ignoring the incredibly obvious example of the Tennessee Valley Authority and all the good they did in both the long and short term re: immediate jobs/quality of life/future innovation, I have a question:

@vinod1978: No, I saw your other comments, I just thought they were fairly tone-deaf to the issue at hand.

@vinod1978: Yeah, but the way to do that is to commoditize broadband infrastructure and treat it like a utility.

@vinod1978: @ THIS STATEMENT IS VERIFIABLY INCORRECT.

@vinod1978: I disagree. I think a) the FCC can and should have the regulatory power, and b) that the rules can be enforced quite easily. Because the rules in question don't really have much to do with the technology, just the delivery.

@Irving94: Believe me, Verizon does *NOT* have your best interests at heart.

@Jeff Schader: As a comparison to Apple I think Eisner should be a cautionary tale.

@Jeff Schader: Except that Michael Eisner very nearly killed the company and had to be forced out by a reluctant board. The only reason he got ousted was an uprising by Roy Disney Jr.

@Norbs: the only reason we don't see eye to eye is because you clearly have no goddamned idea how *open source* software works.

@Norbs: Yes, it does make sense. And if Google were to impose manufacturer guidelines it wouldn't make up any "weird" laws, it would break existing copyright laws that they have already agreed to.

@Norbs: Actually, what I was driving at was that if Google were to impose guidelines or rules then Android would no longer be operating under an Open Source licence.

@richardallen01: Steve and Pajama man are yanking your chain a little bit.

@Norbs: Personally, I think Google should stick to the terms of the Open Handset Alliance, and the GPL under which Android is released.

@TheNobleRobot: Well, technically Chrome isn't open source, but Chromium is, and it's the same code.
